I am heartbroken... Four weeks ago my brother gave me a link to NavyField.com, a site where i could download the free online game "Navy Field". It rocked, let me just tell you that. Anyway, now they want me to pay to play, and i chose not to play at all. Now i am sad, because my brother and i have nothing to play together now
. But there must be some more free online games out there! The only question is where... Maybe you can help me??

Well, have you tried any of the hundreds of text-based MMORPGs that are still around? Many are primitive by modern standards (not the for-pay ones, but the free ones, certainly), but they should fit the bill.
This is a good place to find details, using their Advanced Search engine, of something you might enjoy. There are a couple of dozen checkoffs to narrow things, and the possibilities are extensive.
Fixed your link, fable- Hill-Shatar

I'm confused. That's a huge database of online multiplayer games, which can be searched any number of ways: by theme, pay-for-play, etc. Then you can read each summary, and go through the link to the main site to read some more. Each offers a link that allows you to connect directly to the multiplayer part, too.

oops, my bad. I took premature conclusions.
My apologies, sorry.

No problem. I just wanted to make certain you didn't miss on a world of interesting MMORPGs that few people know about, because they don't care for text.
I actually worked on one of the very few "for pay" text-based MMORPG for about 4 years. Very elaborate game, larger and with more effects than I've heard of from any other MMORPG (at least, at the time), because it didn't have to wonder about developing code or using bandwidth on visuals.

I find it to be one of the most stupid things ever, but others may disagree. I played with it (not really played it) for about 3 hours, and got bored, and just stopped goin there. I'm pretty sure my pet's starved to death (If that's possible)
I also find it to be more girly than manly. So yes, that is my opinion on the game, but you can check it out for yourself here

I concur. and I am also responsible for a pet corpse. I suppose you might like it if you need a reason to play countless numbers of mediocre flash games.
personally, I'm rather fond of Dofus - a link - a mmorpg which only allows access to a portion of the game without subscription, but I've spent a rather long time playing it already without paying a penny.

MAPLESTORY
it is so cute and not very complex. four classes: fighter, mage, thief, and bowman. if you start this game be sure to read some faqs or character builds first. i'd hate for you to spend 100 hrs just to realize you messed up you character.

I know of a few army builder multiplayer online games. If thats what you want then you can pm me, unless the owners of this site will allow me to advertise some here.
