Weapon Skill - What happened?

Post by Derfud »

Something happenned to my character, he has small arms weapon skill at 154%, and as normal, throughout the game, any character within reasonable range that I aimed at would give me the 95% chance to hit. However, recently, something happened, it seems like the game thinks his small arms skill is much lower than it actually is, showing stuff like 14% at reasonable distances, distances that I know were 95% before hand. I've been using the bozar, and the P90 mainly, so it's not like I just picked up a new weapon that I thought I was trained it but wasn't.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

First of all, the bozar is a big gun, it doesn't belong in small weapons class... ;)

BTW. what's your character's perception? Your character may have eye damage or something else that's lowering his/her perception...

yeah, Pastorious is right, you have to pay attention to the weapon class of your gun, sometimes you may thing it's a small weapon and it's a big one. (I did that when I played f1 for the first time... I used to think that assault rifle was a big gun...)

Also you might have a crippled arm, or eye damage, which will make your skill lower until you heal the wound. To heal it you can go to a doctor... like... I forgot but Vault City might have one. Also if you have a doctor's kit (or somethin' like) it will increase your doctor's skill, so you might try to heal it by yourself...

If nothing of this happened to you, I don't know why you're having this problem, but it's kinda hard to be a bug or so...

(oh yeah, notice that at night it will be harder to aim)

I checked my character again, and he has 102% big guns, so that still shouldnt be an issue really, as I said before, I had been using the bozar the whole time yet still this came out of the blue.

My character has 7 perception, and no eye damage, he's only radiated. I'm honestly stumped on this.

Hmm... You haven't picked "Mutate!" as your perk, and then mutated into "One-hander" right?
Equalization is good.
Payback isnt.

Could you give some background what have you been doing just before you noticed this change? WOuld be a bit easier to try to think what has caused it, since this is first time I heard such has happened.

when I face problems like this one, I usually start doing everything to solve... try to use some rad-x... maybe you've been radiated for too long and ... bah it's kinda impossible to be true but you can never be sure. Many problems were solved in that way, trying eveerything which is possible, checking if there's some result... change your big gun for instance. Try another one I dunno..
... well can't help ya pal

Somehow the problem seems to have subsided. I think at the time I was trying to make some really obscure shots, at night, which may very well have been the cause. Thanks for all the suggestions.
