I am looking for the code that will let me complete the quest The Ghost Haunts at Midnight without actually going through it. I know there are codes like that because of this code SaveJohansen() changelevel2 la_hub_1 taxi_landmark Witch completes the quest where you save the professor at the end because of the bug crash. I have looked here
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/vtmb/hints.html and there list if very short. So do any of you know the code I need?

uuh.. I don't, but why you wanna complete the quest without going through it? You'll take less time finishing it by yourself than finding the code you need

its also a pretty straight forward quest, only one area where you really take any considerable damage and that is easy enough to get past if you just run as fast as you can lol. its also one of the best missions in the game in my opinion.

I have completed the quest 3 times. Besides the color is messed up on my monitor so you can't even see in the basement.

i have that trouble in parts of the game too. if you have auspex though it makes it a lot easier to see in the basement and other dark areas.

Its a new problem caused by my monitor being dropped you should see me in parts of Santa monica lol its funny  but with the haunted house you have to be able to see or you will never pass it.

I don't know the exact code, but I may be able to point you in the right direction. Open the console and type in give item_
That should open a drop down box with all the give item codes. You can use your down arrow to scroll through them. Give yourself the ghost's diary and pendant and you should be set. Most item names in the list are pretty obvious, but some aren't. Without having the console open in front of me, I don't know the exact item names you'll need.
Obtaining those items should be sufficient to complete the quest. You may need to actually enter the Ocean House, though.

I will try your suggestion and hope it counts for completing the quest. Lets just hope that if I do have to go into the house for the code to work I can get out again lol but thats what saving right be for entering is for.

It should be one (or both) of these:
item_g_ghost_pendant
item_g_oh_diary

I will try them and see if they work.

They worked to get the diary and the pendant but the quest is still there. It did not complete the quest just gave me the items. When I went back to the Asylum Therese is still there waiting for me to complete the quest instead of Jeanette being there to give me the next quest.

If htat doesn't work, you can give yourself a dozen blood bags and auspex 5, that might help you see.

Tried it did not work most of it is just black so auspex just makes it less black. It sucks big time.

SPOILERS
If the basement is a problem, you do not have to go down there. It is quite possible to jump the collapsing stairs using timing and jump + crouch (to give a higher jump). Alternatively, just no clip your way to the landing. There is no need to complete the basement section to complete the quest, so if you get to the landing by other means, all is still well.

Ok I got the items and went in the house thinking that I at least had to go in. Well I could not get out so I used noclip to go up through the house getting the diary again and the pendant and that worked in getting that fire thing started but then I still could not get out. So here I am with the pendant and the fire going witch should trigger the front doors opening but it dose not. So how do I fix this?

Hmmm, maybe try this.
Go to the outside of the house so that the zone is loaded, give yourself the items and return to the city... It could be that loading the outside of the house is all that's required to trigger the rest of the sequence.
If that DOESN'T work, try going in, no-clipping or jumping the fall of the stairs, then use no-clip to go get the diary and the pendant (And the weed if you want it). Make sure you trigger the following events:
WARNING: THIS MAY SPOIL THIS SEQUENCE!!
Elevator drop
The poltergiest like activity at the bottom of the dumb waiter.
All the blue Shadowlands Leakage.
The transformation of the upstairs room. (This may require you to use the door)
It could be that one-more of these events activates the front door.
If this STILL doesn't work, try entering the house, checking the console history to find the name of the level outside the house. Give yourself, or use no-clip to collect, the items and load the outside again. Loading the house might trigger the end events that allow you to hand the necklace in.
If all THAT doesn't work... Um... Get a new monitor?? *Shrugs helplessly* Load it on a friends computer, get past that section, save and go back home? Thou I warn you, if the issue is that it's too dark, there are a LOT of sections that are going to be hell for you.

So in-other words load one of my earlier saves right before I entered and then go in and don't use noclip. Damn it. What if I used a cheat that takes me to the hub?

I suppose another way around the problem is just to give yourself Protean level 1 (as everything turns red, your monitor should have no problems) via the console, auto-renew, and then periodically top-up your blood via the console. Quite frankly, it does rather look like going through the hotel iin some way is going to be much easier than all this fiddling!
