Hi!

I just started playing the demo, and I have a few questions...

I read the walkthrough and it says I can rest by the campfire to make time pass till daylight. I tried this but every time I press the shift key, either nothing happens or I talk to the messenger. What am I doing wrong?

How do I deal with the chests? I press shift and a window pops up saying there is a trap. I press disarm, but it always blows up.

Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't played the demo but here is how it works with the game.
For the campfire you need to position yourself so "campfire" shows at the bottom of the screen then press shift. Of course it is possible that the first campfire doesn't work in the demo.
For chest, click on the icons on the bottom row as the red bar passes over the icons in the top row. If you can't see the icons on the top row then you need increase your "inspect" skill. If the red bar moves too fast you need to increase "disarm trap." "Pick lock" is a useless skill. D

Pick lock is not very usefull indeed but its not usless... it can help alittle at late parts in the game when u get stuffy of picklocks.
I do not suggest you to use it in the demo tough... you won't need it for start places.
