I have recently completed the Baldur's Gate series with one character and without party members or any outside help... I was wondering how many other people have done this (without changing the difficulty lvl). I was just wondering... it seemed somewhat difficult the first time I played the game.

(I found that the only truly challenging parts were the end bosses, mainly Melissan...)

I remember someone back a little while who had solo'd the entire BG1, BG2, and ToB with a druid later turned into an avenger. The thing, I heard, was super powerful. But I've never beat either game all the way through although I know the story and endings to all of them. BG is just too boring with no interaction and no "story" behind most of the quests. Although Im currently working on soloing BG2 and ToB once I get it installed (when I try to install ToB it says Would you like to uninstall? and if I do, nothing happens and an error occurs so can not install yet.)

I haven't done it through the whole thing but plan on taking my Cleric/Ranger all the way through. She is currantly maxed out experiance wise in TOTSC. And is cleaning out cloakwood right now. Its amazing how much smooth sailing she has had once I got a good handle on how to use her.Definately a different wourld when you are by yourself, loads of fun.

Yep, done it. First and most memorable time was the thief/fighter who backstabbed his way through BG1 wish ease and became a pure killing machine in BG2 when he got his hands on Carsomyr, SotM 100% mag res and so on and so forth.

Next playthrough I think I'll be going for a thief/mage. That'll surely give me some though times, but I can't stop thinking about how devestating Time Stop+Mass backstab will be relatively early in SoA.

Curious: what character were ye in BG1? BG2?

Actually, imo, the game is much easier when soloing. Ofc it depends on class and stats, but the most classes is pretty easy. When your playing single player, its often the other classes that dies first, and youll have to reload because of them, so they are really just a burden for you.
Furthermore you get xp 6 times as fast as if you were going with a 6 player group, which means you get very high lvl in places that actually isnt suited for that level.
A challenge in baldurs gate I, would be soloing with a bard, druid, cleric and so on

(i.e. I was a fighter/mage, which made the game easier than normal)
