A Question About Sulik, and one about the Toxic Cave

Sulik says his sister was taken by slavers.
Is she in the slaver pen at the Den? If so, is there a way to get her out?

As for the Toxic Cave, I got as far as the elevator, but have not been able to get the computer to work.
Is the computer necessary to getting down to the next level, or is there some other method?

Suliks sister is not in the game. You can't find her.
(Well rumors are that one of the non-interactable NPCs in the slaver camp is the sisters, but you can't activate/complete the quest - it is taken out of the game).

I can't recall the excat circumstances to getting down the Toxic Caves, but perhaps others can (or I'll look when I get home from work).

ypyp..suliks sister is not in the game..although it would have been a nice side quest to do ..

as for the toxic caves...err im no expert on this, but u have to repair the generatoe, and prob need a high enough scince to acces the comp, dep on which f2 version u have u need either an electronic kit MI , or MII, to open the door...its worth doing it, as there is a vry handy iteam down there :)

You don't need to use the computer, you just have to fix the generator to enable the elevator and then you have to use the electronic lockpick (mkII doesn't work, dunno why) to unlock the elevator door. You'll enter a small fight once you get down, but it's definitely worth the effort ;)

I don't think the effort involved is worth what's down there, it also depends on what patch has installed as well.

If the game is unpatched, ignore for all eternity. If the game is patched then go down once, figure if it's worth the effort and then repeat as required.
(I don't think it's ever worth the effort)

I go in there just for something to do. Since I am in no hurry for the game to end, I run around looking for stuff to do! Takes awhile before I bother to invest in repair skill to fix the generator, though. It's also quite annoying when the toxic waste burns up my rubber boots.

Okay, here is the (AFAIK) the official answer to that question:
Sulik's sister was planned to implement to game. She was supposed to be found in one city, which never made in the game. That city wassupposed to be located SE from Arroyo (IIRC, I'll post here a link to the map where one can see every places, even those which weren't included to final version).

So, you can't find Sulik's sister neither from Den nor NCR...

I personally like this kind of thingies, because it seems like something you can't do, you're not the all-mighty you know? There's something you can't accomplish, so it's cool! You're not that hero who destroy the super monstar and brings back the poor old lady's cat which is on a top of a tree at the same time. There are things (or beings) that have to be sacrified in name of a greater goal !

bah, maybe it's just a crazy idea of mine.. :D

Yes, but Sulik's sister was planned to be implemented in the game... and that makes it different from your idea ;)

I have a question... I had a weird thing with Sulik first time I played the game. I payed $350 to release him, but he didn't become a follower in the strict meaning of words. I had the 'barter' button in the dialogue screen instead of 'trade', among other things. And when I went on a rampage in Gecko, he simply stayed behind, saying something like: "Seems you have some social problems. I'll join you when you sort that out.", and I never experienced a follower do something like that
But the weirdest thing is that later, when I played it for the second time, everything was perfectly fine, and I never experienced that issue again...

Your karma was probaly too bad. Sulik is nice, so if you do nasty things, he wont like you very much. When he REALLY doesnt like you, he will stop following you. Were you evil when you first met him?
Were you evil in your second game?

anyway, in the end, it doesn't really matter
:p

To pastorious: Yes, Wozaii is right, it must be your Karma. Have you never joint the slavers with sulik in your party? He'll leave you (or attack you, I don't remember...). I also can't remember if there's another NPC that will attack you if your karma is terrible, but I'd bet on it.

Well, I just started the game when I met him so my karma was a bit above 0, but it eventually dropped below -2000 when I slaughtered everything in Gecko, Vault City and San Francisco, got the bounty hunters on my back etc.
I guess you're right, but I still don't get it how could I get a non-follower dialogue system with Sulik when he agreed to follow me the same way as he did when I played the game later (my karma was basically the same)... maybe it was some kind of a bug

well I've never slaughtered so many cities, but it for sure will down your karma to devil's spawn' . Anyway, it sounds like a bug.. a weird one, but it does. Not sure thought, it never happened with me before...

Sulik doesnt like you if you killed a child
Sulik doesnt like you if you killed a child
Makes sense, but he left the party when I went on a rampage through the Gecko power plant, which doesn't have any children in it...
That's what confuses me :(

Besides, the 'bug' (I have no idea how else to name it) with the different interface occured practically at the beginning of the game, in Klamath (I visited Den before Sulik joined me, but I haven't killed anything there nor have I joined the slavers)

All gecko ghouls (including powerplant guards) gives karma penalty if killed. You probaly killed so many that your karma got below what Sulik accepts.

yes, NPC's reactions do not depends only on special things like killin' his mother ( :p ) or killin' some children. Some NPC's have an acceptable karma limit. If you get below this, he may leave you or attack you. I thought about having NPC's that would only follow you if you had a bad karma, but I guess it doesn't exists
