Mace Of Disruption - Spoiler

Post by davfrahen »

I`ve got the quest which involves the illithium. I`ve told the merchant that I want the real stuff, so I don`t think I can go in for a confidence trick.
What I would like to know is where is the mace of disruption and is it worth not completing a quest to get it and have a powerful weapon?
Keldorn is in my party and I want to keep him.

Mace 'pray

The Mace is in a yucky pool of blood in Bodhi's lair when you face Lassal the Vassal.

I found that Minsc - who rather likes double-weilding maces - can be rather effective with the MoD.

Boney hands up if you are undead? wrong!

Well,as Celacena answered your first question i will answer the second one.

It is simple :D o as you feel like.I usualy dont get the feeling of helping a man whose is so arrogant to me..and i dont care much about Helm or Lathander either. But still i like to do the quest instead of the MoD.

If you want to be better at swinging mace type weapons and destroying undead-pick the MoD upgrade. If you want to be a freind to the Temple and familiar to a God and hope for Divine Interventions, give him the Pure ore.

The worst you can do is to give him the faulty ore though...I wouldn't recomend trying it,exept if you RPG it.

Oh,and if you have Anomen in your party then the Undead(especially Vampires) turn to dust as you use the Undead repell skill.

I went back to the ore merchant, and she still offered me the phoney gear. i accepted it and took it to the artist.
To my horror, Keldorn piped up and spilled the beans and the artist got the hump.
I took the fake gear to the temple and the guy there was quite pleased. I got 10,000 xp, not as many as it should have been, but now I have my Mace of Disruption +2.
I love this game. So many twists and turns.

The guy knows its fake whether Keldorn is there or not. +2 is upgraded form right? with level drain protection? Just making sure, havent used the mace in a long time.

Yes - I realised that - I just thought it was amusing that Keldorn couldn`t resist telling the truth.

Crom Faeyr and Mace of Disruption +2

Later in the game when you have acquired the artifacts for Crom Faeyr, and its contruction complete, dual-wield this with your Mace of Disruption +2. I found that this combination makes an effective offense against Liches. Dual-wielding these two glorious weapons will help ensure a hit with almost every swing. With buffering spells to improve defense and offense these Liches will fall before your feet. Let's not forget the 25 percent chance they will be destroyed outright. With one tank taking them on, your other party members are there to keep your tank going. Be careful of spells that will effect your tanks movement. Imprisonment will spell certain death for your other party members. Time Stop is so horrible when used against you. With any luck they will be destroyed before they get to it.

the dualist

at present I have the ranger PC dualling with Daystar and Celestial Fury and Minsc dualling with MoD and the Flail of Ages - he was dualling with Azuredge but it seems to be stuck in thrown mode - MoD and Azuredge seem a good combination - especially hastened!

Have you tried turning it to melee mode? If you don't know how, right click it (either in your inventory, or on the main screen), if you right click it in the inventory go to the bottom left button on the axe's description and click it and select melee. Maybe that will help. With those two weapons, it sounds like an undead killing machine, plus minsc's racial enemy to vampire. :D

obviously...

I kept trying to turn it back to melee mode and it wouldn't, but somehow I have finally managed to do it - I think through examining the axe when not in use rather than changing properties when equipped.

minsc with MoD and the flail, PC with daystar and azuredge and we made vampire sushi at the docks in brynnlaw - not a scratch on either character - it helps that I equipped the PC with 2 rings of Gaxx (pickpocketed plus looted) - so didn't end up with level drain saving throws lost - and MoD prevented Minsc losing levels.

in fact with -11 AC and dual-wielding - usually daystar and celestical fury - most encounters just need the PC and Nalia (at level 13 mage) - my latest ambush-killer is Jah with entangle, followed by Nalia using area-effect wands and looking for doors to hide behind. previously I just did the area-effect CK, but entangle is handy for preventing an onrush.
