Proplyn CHambers Causing crashes-Glitch?

Post by KaiSardone »

Has anyone had problem with walking into proplyn chambers and then suddenly your screen turns to much goging back to 600X800 or whatever and like 16 bit color >< of course causing and error/crashing morrowind.

I looked on the main site under tech and they dont mention it ever.

its happend to me twice now, i've walked into a proplyn(two differnt ones) chamber and was hoppping around to get on somthing and then WHAM morrowind goes down windows gives me an error message and i'm in 600X800 with crappy 16 bit color ><

I had a lot of trouble with those chambers before I updated my graphics card a bit.
I never had outright crashes, but my FPS would slow to a snail's pace.

You might want to consider a better card if you have no plans to upgrade your entire systen any time soon. I have an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, and it made a huge difference to gameplay. You can get them quite cheaply these days.

It's quite possible. My system (the same age as MW itself), for example, lags always in the chamber when i'm looking at propylons. Then there could be features not supported or supported badly as well. Have you checked your video card against the list of supported?

You might think about NoGlo mod, it removes the glow from enchanted items and perhaps could affect the display of propylons, too. Slight drawback that detection marks (for Detect whatever) on the map it makes dark instead of red.

well this computer isnt exactly mine, its my dads dell which i've bene using for awhile cuase he doesnt need it. and it was never made for gaming.

and i'm WAY to poor to ever buy a new graphics cards, plus i think it would be a waste to put it in such a crappy system. my mom has another Computer she said i could use that MIGHT be faster(i have to look at it) then my current one, but then the issue is transfering files over x.x. i'm gonna have to check the local comp store see if they can switch the harddrive over or somthing.

This mod might help you out, it adjusts the chamber lighting for lower end PCs:

scroll down until you get to "Propylon Lighting 1.0"

I'm running a 3.1 Athlon CPU with 1 GB RAM, and those chambers still made my computer wheeze. So you're not alone.
