Quest help

Well I got this game in July and just got it to work. I'm hooked. I have a strange obsession with earth-things like rocks and bark (notice the name?) so I just had to be a druid.
My problem is with the chapter 1 quest to find all the creatures to make a cure. I know you need all 4 pieces from each creature to complete the quest and I think I have done that, but I'm not moving on. The only thing on my quest list is the Prison Break quest in Peninsula, but I remember killing that intellectual devourer and getting its brain. I have even gone back to the prison to check and there is no one there. I don't know what happened to the brain. I think I dropped or sold it but it does not appear in the pool in the Temple of Tyr. Any suggestions? Maybe I can respawn the creatures in the prison and get the brain again. Or maybe it doesn't have anything to do with this quest, but I remeber getting all the other things. Thanks.

That sounds very odd. The game will not let you sell a quest item like that and if you dropped it it would surely appear in the pool. Check all of your bags of holding again to be sure its not in your inventory. If you are not already make certain you are patched to the newest version (v.1.66) so something like this does not occur again. You don't need to start over, you can spawn the brain back into the game using the console.

I've checked the inventory, so I think I'll have to use the console code. Is it the ~GetVarObject code? What is the exact name of the object?

Press ~ to open the console. Type "DebugMode 1", enter (no quotes). Put the game cursor somewhere near you and accessible as the item will spawn on the cursor. In the console then type "dm_spawnitem M1Q2PlotReagent" (no quotes), enter, the command is sensitive to capital letters. When you are done, remember to turn Debug Mode off (DebugMode 0) or your save games from that point on may become corrupted.

SPOILER WARNING!! THIS POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!

Are you sure you didn't spoke to that lady in temple (sorry, forgot her name :o )? The quest items will disappear when you speak to them, as you have completed that part.

Also, after you have returned the brain, you just have to go to different district, you will get some quests related to them and finally end up getting one piece of the cure from each district... IIRC when you return one piece you don't immediatly get new entry for the next piece...
