I was fighting Irenicus, and then it seemed like his only spells left were cone of cold so I just ran away as he casted. After he casted a bunch of them one hit Valygar and caused him to freeze die. I was wondering if there are any ways to get him back?

If his picture has vanished from your party, then he's perma-dead, as you state. Considered reloading?

If his picture is still there, you can resurrect him.

If he got chunked (died from massive damage, making his portrait disapear), then no. Not without cheating. Reload and do the fight again.

If he just died "normally" (his portrait is still there, it's just grey), then yes. Through a temple, with a divine spellcaster or a character with a Rod of Resurrection. Simple enough.

Well, as much as I do miss seeing super dual katana action in slick black dragon armour, I have replaced him with Imoen. Luckily though, he died earlier in the battle and only was chunked after picking up some items of his so I still have his black dragon armour and celestial fury.
