Patchwork game

Hey fellas, been some time since I've posted on the forums. But I just recently went digging through some boxes that had some software packed, and came across VTMB.

After playing through the game with several different characters, I'd like to try my hand out with the latest "unofficial" patches. Either 2.0 or 1.9. I've never patched above the official 1.2 patch. I've read some posts about how buggy 2.0 is, so I went ahead and downloaded 1.9 instead.

Call me noobish, but I'm kinda confused where exactly I'm supposed to extract the patch folders to.

Comparing the VTMB folders and the 1.9 patch, I've found both have common folders. For instance, the folder titled "DLG"(dialog) is found in both the VTMB 1.2 version AND the patch. So, naturally...I'm supposed to copy the files from the patch and overwrite any of the 1.2 files in folder "DLG".

However, there are several folders in the patch that don't exist in my version 1.2 directory. I figure i'm simply just supposed to copy and paste the new folders in my VTMB directory, but I'd figure I'd ask first before I go shooting myself in the foot and do something I'm not supposed to.

I'm sure this subject has been talked over before in the forums, but I'm not very patient and don't feel like going on a scavenger hunt (sorry Fable).

Guess I'm too spoiled with good ol .exe files that do all the hard work for ya.

Oh yeah, and some helpful input on patches 1.9 vs. 2.0 would be helpful as well.

Not a problem. If it had been covered, I would have closed the thread and told you that you aren't a special case, no matter how pressing your time is. But I don't see a similar thread, so this stays open until I'm proved wrong. ;)

I would recommend the unofficial 2.0 instead of 1.9; the 2.0 is more stable than its predecessor (in my opinion). As for extraction, it should just be placed in the "drive name":\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines folder and the extractor will take care of the rest.

The reason you are seeing more folders than what you have is because the various game files were unpacked, to be re-worked. As long as you keep your original files the way they are (and not unpack any yourself) the newly extracted 1.2 official and 2.0 unofficial files will do their job.

I hope that makes sense.
