Japanese words

Post by Alltgear »

Does anybody know a website, an online dictionary, anywhere where I can learn the japanese language or even expressions? If do so, please inform me...

For instance....My name is "......" is translated in japanese as : Whatashi no namae "......" desu. If you don't put "desu" it will mean that your name isn't "......" .

From what I know the word "watashi" is not usually used by males except to people whom they are close to; they tend to use "boku" instead.

I speak a decent bit of japanese, and "no" is a particle for other people my friend.

You use ha (pronounced like wa) when introducing yourself. Otherwise, it'd sound like third person in japanese. You also don't need namae, as that would make your sentance formal. Direct Translations-

Watashi no siberys desu

Siberys is me

Watashi wa(using ha) siberys desu

I am siberys

So, a decent and more colloquial(sp?) form for sentances would be the latter.

Watashiwa siberys desu. soshi te, ju nana sai desu. Yuroshikuonegaishimasu?

Hi, my name's siberys, I'm 17 years old, wanna be friends?
(direct translation is really weird with that last part.)
