kids with diabetes

I am writing a paper and have some questions for people who may have children with diabetes. Also, if you have diabetes, I would be interested in how it affected your school experience.
1. How old is your child and what type of diabetes do they have?
2. How long has it been since they were diagnosed with diabetes?
3. Do you and your child's teacher(s) have a co-ordinated plan on how to deal with their diabetes?
4. What sort of adjustements have you had to make with your child's lifestyle in dealing with this disease?
5. In your opinion, do you think your child's school district is adequately prepared to death with diabetic children (ie-alternate lunch plans, training, etc.)?
6. How could you and the school district do a better job of making sure your child is adequately prepared to deal with diabetes outside their home.
7. Any other suggestions or comments.
If you don't feel comfortable answering on the board, please feel free to PM or email me at highlorddave@gmail.com
Thank you in advance.
