Bioware messed up on Cleric/Mages

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but last night when I was attempting to make a multiplayer character, I thought I would try an Elven Cleric/Mage.
But, to my surprise, according to BG 2, Elves CAN'T be Cleric/Mages, only Half-Elves.

Meanwhile, Aerie is a full Elf, and she IS a Cleric/Mage, so what's the deal?

I was just wondering if anyone else noticed small annoyances like this one, and if anyone knew anything about what the expansion pack will change.

Of course, her being an Avariel (wingless or not) could have something to do with her abilities, but she's still an Elf, dammit!

According to the manual (at least mine),in multi classed half-elves you can choose a druid instead of a cleric (in the multi cleric combos like cleric/mage or F/M/C).But when i tried to create a F/M/D i saw that there is no option for that.Just F/M/C.

Anyone knows if it is possible to create a multi F/M/D?

There is only 1 multclass option for a druid...thats with a fighter...same in dual class....I'm not sure why...Although its hard as all hell to dual to a druid from a fighter because you must have
str 18
wis 18
cha 18
int above 15 i believe....this is really hard to do...unless you want a dex and con of like 5

Genesis: In my manual, there is a table with multi class combinations.Does your table writes anything about a half-elf F/M/D is possible? (My manual writes so,but it seems this is wrong)

As for the dual class, you can create a druid and then dual him at lvl 11 to a fighter. So he can still reach the cap lvl for fighters and still cast lvl 6 druid spells.

2 things.

The manual says you can replace th cleric duals with a druid but the game does not allow it. simple as that.

Druids get some nice level 7 spells...so i would rather dual the other way around...its just harder to do cause of the stats....its ok after you get the gauntlets of dex if you sacrificed dex...but getting there is hard.

Well, either the nice young men at Bioware are stupid, or they just couldn't give two pommegranites for AD&D rules.

They must have wanted a flying elf in but also a mage/cleric (2 birds *ahem* with 1 stone and to hell with the rules). Or maybe they felt that a mage/cleric more closely represented Aerie's powers?
