I just acquired the "Winged Destroyer" Heavy Poll level 7 magic weapon but I only acquired the Heavy Pole Weapons skill with no points to it yet. This weapon, as good as it looks, may be a drag to carry around in the hopes of one day using it. Currently it has a -35 penalty and a 22,993 price.
I'm guessing I should take the money and spend it on more worthwhile things now I might benefit from then hanging on to this for the day I can use it? Although as a Valkyrie it may be the perfect weapon for that character?
Can I drop things I don't currently need but want to hang on to for later in a room for instance or will it disappear and be lost?
Hang On To "Winged Destroyer Or Not??

If you drop things, they'll disappear.
I don't like pole weapons very much. They're too slow and unwieldy. But you can hold quite a bit of stuff in your inventory, so it wouldn't hurt to hang onto the weapon and see if you like it later. When you put a single point into heavy pole weapons, that penalty will probably drop quite a bit.

Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

Uhmm... Some like single one handers, some like 2 handed heavies, some like bows, dual wielders etc... Its just about what YOU like. Those BIG poles look cool in battle, but seems a bit slow, even if u have a speed like 290 !, and skill above their req level, in that case 7 (magic wpn). I dont wanna lose ANY of those UNIQUES, so i keep em in my inv. Theres a LOT of space .

This is something I want to make a new post about later, the new drops in the collector's ed. I got this weapon from the Valkyrie quest too. It looks awesome, I saved a game though and put the points I needed into heavy pole and played with it a bit. It has always been my experience too that polearms are too slow. And they still are in the c.e. I loaded my saved game and got my points back and I'm carrying the weapon until I reach my max goal for bargain (level 8, I'm currently at l. 7).
