i Speed-played thru Bg1 so i could fetch the tomes , so my paladin is kinda boosted.
St 19
Con 19
Dex 19
Int 12
Wis 17
Char 18
And of course, i use the allmighty Carsomyr , that weapon is excellent! 50 % magic resistant, +10 damage vs Chaotic Evil creatures ( all bad boy evil doods are Chaotic Evil) and Dispel magic at each hit...um, yeah baby!
Just a Question: Since im only at Chapter 2 with my paladin ( completed Bg2 with a elf warrior before) , what kinda armor is the best i can get in the game? I dont wnat to use Drow Equipment, it goes against all my belief's from Salvatores Books about Drizzt and the Underdark
.

i rolled up a paladin in bg1 that had those migthy stats after getting all the tomes
strength 19
dex 19
con 19
int 10
wis 21
cha 19
and of course i use carsomyr
helmet of baludran
ring of gaxx
ring of free action
boots of speed for the extra 1/2 attack the ring of free action does not cancel it out
cloak of mirroring
belt of inertial barrier
the red dragon plate <doesnt counts as magical armor AC -1 and 50 fire res>
the 10 magic res amulet
and i have daystar and ibratha as the two other equipped weapons..because you just need to have them in the quickslots to get their spell like abilities..the mirror image is powerfull for a figther

I also played BG1.But i played it more than once and got the Tomes more than once.Is this cheating? st.21 dex.21 con.22 int.21 wis.22 char.24 Celestial Fury main hand -6 Blade of Roses off hand -4 Belt of Inertial Barrier. Gordon Plate. Gauntlets of Weapon skill. Boots of Speed. Cloak of Mirroring. Helm of Balduran. Amulet of 5% Magic Resistance. Ring of the Ram. Ring of Gaxx. Wand of Wonder. Daystar in empty Q slot. Crom Faeyr in empty Q slot.I also carry the Shield of Balduran to change out with Blade of Roses when i encounter Beholders.

Weasel, obviously, there's no unimpeachable guide to what is and what isn't cheating. The game allows you to do what you did, so there are some who would say you are not cheating. But, IMHO, importing a developed character into a new game counts as cheating since it's illogical to the narrative. (i.e.--How could you be carrying Spider's Bane before you even enter Cloakwood?)
I hogged the tomes when I sent my pally through BGI only one time and ended up with St19, Dx19, Co17, In9, Wi15 (It's amazing how many people don't realize there are two wisdom tomes in BGI), Ch18. I already feel pretty guilty sending this fellow through BGII because he's already a bit too powerful. Having a pally with the stats yours has seems pretty damn boring to me. Where's the challenge? But, to each his own. Cheers, my overly buffed brother!

yeah, there are one tome of wisdom at the priest at tymoras temple in the NW part of the city, a little pocket picking do the trick
The second one is....umm...dang, dont remember, but i found both anyway.
Seriously Lucian, how did you get 21 in Wisdom? By the look of your other stat's , it dont look like you replayed BG1 over n over again in a MP session. Or is that 21 Wisdom modified with magical items from BG2?
And a Q. Where do i find my first pair of Boots of Speed? i know about the slot machine in the Asylum, but i cant remember where i found the first pair of Boots. Anyone remember?

Hmmm wow...Buncha powerplayers out there ;p
I can't go thorugh BG1 again Arrgghh...I would have to hit the config file and equip all my group with boots of speed. Too many Zones ;p
Anyway my Paly's stats are as follows:
str 17, dex 16, con 18, int 9, wis 16, cha 17
Equip: The talking 2-hander (name escapes me), Flail of ages, Plate +1, girdle (1/2 damage from bludg.), ring +2 cha, and helm of Infra.

I finished the game with a 17th level Undead Hunter (Str-18/53, Dex-16, Con-16, Int-13, Wis-13, Cha-19) wielding Crom Faeyr and wearing Red Dragon Armor and Boots of Speed. Not overly impressive, but very few mages got spells off before he whacked 'em.

I took my Paladin in BG1, and opened a multi session with my old char that i completed Bg1 with before, i unloaded all weapons, rings, belts, gloves n Armor to my paladin, and then ran thru the whole game. When i found the last tome in BG (under Candlekeep) , i transfered the save file to Bg2. And i had a lucky roll with the dices too.
This took me about...umm....15 hours something. Oh, i camped in the Siren Cave near the lighthouse, and killed lots of Flesh Golems. By that, i maxed my Hitpoints , took me 30-40 minutes.

Finally got round to writing them down.
Curdis (Undead hunter) - Rolled for single player BG2 Str:18/76 Dex:16 Con:18 Int:2 (you know in the assylum how you have to sacrifice) Wis:18 Char:17. Uses holy sword AC -11 Currently in the underdark approaching the exp cap and it is a very strange event when: Creature name: death
does not appear before
Curdis: Autopause - End of round
Including beholders, liches (etc).
Curdis upholder of right (err, that's right isn't it?)

I must admit that I'm a bit baffled by the Int scores for many of the Paladins here ... I mean, they have vast knowledge (high Wis), are very powerful (high Str and Dex) and look awesome (high CH), but they can't even add 1 and 1 (*VERY* low Int). I mean, even the most stupid drooling Ogre is most probably more intelligent than they are. I would opt for having Intelligence play a BIGGER role in conversations to prevent such monstrosities ...

You need to sacrifice Int to get good stats as a fighter (Str,Dex,Con).Paladins can't have Wis less than 13 and Cha less than 17 as the other types of fighters.
Does having so low Int means that Paladins are in a disadvantage when enemies cast mind affecting spells ? The manual states that only wisdom affects magic defence.
But even if that is the case, all paladin kits have some immunities in this type of spells (hold, fear, charm) and their saving throws are good (mine had all negatives)
