Patch 1.4 assistance

I have been trying to install patch 1.4 and get a message that says "1.4 update not compatible with version 1.20.000. Uninstall that version and then reinstall update 1.4" or words like that. Any ideas on how to successfully install the patch? Thanks

1.4 only installs over 1.3, soooo.... install 1.3 first!

Be careful.

There are two versions of the English 1.4 patch. One that installs over 1.3 and the other that installs over 1.0....
