Talked to Go-To and found out that in fact, (Spoilers, last chance)
That he is only a droid? Many people don't find this out. They think getting Inf. with him is useless, but I thought that it was sort of cool. Becoming a crime boss, while no one knows that he has no human side. Just sort of a rebellious droid, trying to stabilize the galaxy. IDK, I thought it was cool. Discuss.

Yep, there was a discussion where all those who did not know the 'horrible' truth were surprised and those who did know it gloated at the rest of us.
I have to admit I was a bit surprised on that one.

The idea never really occured to me until that one conversation between Bao-Dur and G0-T0, when G0-T0 zoomed up to him and Bao-Dur said, "What is it, Goto?"
And at that exact moment, it hit me. BAM!! Everything clicked.
:speech:
What a moment. I know it sounds weird, but that's the way it happened. And yes, it was, for lack of a better term, very very cool.

goto tells you
he is the droid that went missing on route to telos and was assumed stolen
if you get a lot of influence with him and if you ask him the right stuff

possible spoiler
GOTO is good to have on the mission loose ends mission on Dxun but other than that he's useless. I only found out about what he really was the last time I played because I was trying to find out everyone's back story. I think GOTO and HK-47 are both pretty well useless as if you play LS. In fact T3 isn't all that helpful either unless you make Bao-Dur a Jedi early on.
It seems to me several characters in the game aren't all the helpful once you get past certain early points in the game.

As Mr Sir says, G0-T0 tells you that he was progammed to 'save the Republic' and he found it couldn't be done by legal means, so he escaped and changed the chassis etc...

Well, that explains it. Being the local Mary Sue goody-two-shoes, I never got much influence with G0T0... He did call me a walking catastrophe, though. It's his little way of being sentimental.
Sorry, I'm ranting.

The main problem I find with GOTO is that you don't actually get anything for gaining influence with him; he's the only character apart from Mandalore where you don't. T3, HK, Hanharr, Kreia and Visas can give you bonuses to your stats etc., Atton, Bao, Handmaiden, Disciple and Mira can become Jedi. The only thing gaining INF does is get him to tell you about the recording device. My guess is that before the game was cut, you needed a high INF with him in order to get the Droid Factory quest on Naa Shaddaa. When that quest went, so did any point to gaining INF with him. (Hmmm...I wonder if the outcome of gaining INF with Mandalore was cut as well????Never thought of that before)
As for his identity, although I never got the revelations from GOTO yet, I realised he was a droid as soon as I heard of him; his name rather gives it away, no?

Warning - spoilers ahead -
badly hidden!!
As far as I know, Mandalore's true identity has to be figured out on your own; I don't think he ever tells you he's
Canderous of clan Ordo
, but there are little hints throughout the game. E.g., his first conversation with Kreia, where they both say, straight out, several times, that he
travelled with Revan
; he likes to yell "
For clan Ordo!!
"; and in case his distorted voice doesn't ring a bell, I believe there's a voice-over line during the solving of Dagon Ghent's alleged murder case, in the cantina, that isn't distorted. Furthermore, in every place you visit, you can ask him about it,
which I personally think was a nice tribute to the K1 team
.
(Sorry about the uncalled-for rant.)

Sorry for not being around, but 2nd shift bites to no end. Anyway, had this discussion a while back. Check the thread on page 3 titled "Spolier: GO-TO: Behind the ball". This is still an intresting topic and I think the 2 threads will fully open up that floating can

I believe that after you
defeat Kreia
she uses his name when she is telling you what will happen to your companions.

OK I'm sorry, but if you played KotOR 1 and didn't recognize who Mandalore was by the time you left Dxun you weren't paying attention at all. I pegged who he was before he even finished his first sentence in the game. If the voice isn't a dead give away, the scene between he and Kreia before you leave for Onderon should spell it out for you.

You're right, Alcina;
Many battles does that one have left in him... as Revan intended. A general needs an army, as he needs those he trusts. And Canderous is a loyal beast, no matter how much he is broken upon Revan's will.
Ah well. I can't believe it slipped my mind.
lonewolf; strangely enough, many people did not in fact realise this at all. The prime example would be my brother, who played the game through twice, and yet stared at me dumbstruck when I happened to mention Canderous in KotOR II.

Some people...
