Time for a new poll ...
How did you play BG2 ?

Options ..

1 - Played BG1 with 1 character + in game NPC's and imported that character to BG2.
2 - Played BG1 with 1 character, but started new solo character in BG2
3. - Played BG1 with 6 generated characters, and imported them all to BG2.
4 - Or perhaps some other interesting combination ..... ?

As I recall, the option to play multiplayer in single player mode ( i.e. one person, 6 characters ) was put in BG1 to satisfy "hard core" traditional CRPG games who liked controlling all the party members from start to finish.

As someone who played the original AD&D Gold Box series I prefer to control all the characters. Putting up with someone else's sense of NPC humour ( sorry, hamster lovers !! ) is a turn off ... I wonder how many people remember, or even played the original POR ?

I made that big mistake not to play BG1 so I started from scratch.

So did I.

I played BG1 with one character, and started to play BG2 with anothernew character!
BG1 I played with ranger and paladin!
BG2 I play with Cavalier!
I am at university now so I do not have enough time to play, but after this week I will finish tge game, and start it again with only 2 or 3 generated characters and play it as multiplayer game

I played BG1 with a whole bunch of solo characters, but dumped them all! In BG1, my neutral characters didn't get a mix of special abilities so I missed out on vampiric touch. But I'm a hampster lover, so I play solo.

I purchased BG1 but I never managed to play it.
Something ****ed up every time I tried to load it, so I started from scratch on BG2. Just thought you left out that possibillity earlier.

I played bg with a ranger and then imported him into bg2 and completed it with him.

I havent actually completed bg1 i got to sarevok and got my butt whipped then bg2 came out so i bought it and havent really gone back to bg yet, i have started bg1 again as a mage, its really hard, only 6 hp, 1 spell and only firing one magic missile at a time, bit of a come down from the power of bg2

I played BG2 before I played BG1. I also bought BG1 before BG2 but it kept locking up so I quit after leaving Candlekeep. When I finally figured out how to change the settings to make it work, I was disappointed because BG2 is sooo much better.

Imported my BG1 character:
A gnome fighter/illusionist. The funny thing was that my magical items were translated into higher stats. Now I have 19 strength!

Played BG1, lost my saves.
Played BG2 anew (cavalier).
Re-did BG1 with thief dualled to fighter,
Now re-playing with that char imported.

Played BG 1 with 5 characters in Multiplayer.

Imported 3 of them to BG2 for the First Go-round. Then used a Whole new Character for a single player game. Rinse, repeat.

Will Probably experiment with just a Single player with only 1 Npc, not exactly soloing, but can do lots of quests that way OR have a romance if desired.

Fourth time round I am a Totemic Druid.
Did not import chars from BG1.

No. 3 Played BG1 a couple of times with my own "gang of 6". Ported 6 of them to BG2. Second time through tried out a few of the new classes, hence new chars + a few of my old BG1's.

1st time through played with imported charachter from BG1, he was cack, but i managed to finish the game regardless.

2nd time, kensai.

3rd time Sorcerer with three other custom.

4th Barbarian.

the list goes on and i haven't time.

Played through BG1 with one character, started a new one for BG2. Not by choice, actually. My computer had one of those seizures it's so annoyingly prone to and I lost all my saved games before I got around to buying BG2.

I played half of BG1 and im in chapter 7 in BG2.

I have also lost my saved BG1 games(there are some ). So, I played new character (fighter dual to mage). And now doing BG1 with a fighter, and will dual to mage I love a sword waving mage, you see

Själv spelade jag med:

först en fighter dual till cleric på level 6
sedan en fighter till level 9 dual till mage
kom upp till level elva med magen
använde exp cap och klarade spelet 3 gånger med samma kille (5 in long bow)

bg2 spelar

jag med en swashbuckler dual till fighter
på level tio
när han blir en level 12 fighter har han
katana ++++
flail/morningstar ++++
two weapon style +++

P.S vad har ni svenskar för ICQ nummer?
