Trouble with Celestial Fury

I have Valygar using the Celestial Fury but now I can't remove it. It says something like "magical weapon in use". It's REALLY annoying because it makes it impossible to switch weapons - in other words - he can only use that weapon although he is equipped with a bow and another sword (which I cannot remove either). He can't even dual wield as he has the bow equipped. Any solutions (other than killing him) and/or explanations?

Seems like the only way to solve this *is* killing him.
If you think it's unfair to have to spend money on raising him, and you can't memorize a Raise Dead/Resurrect/Harper's Call spell, then do the following.
Open your baldur.ini file in the Baldur's Gate directory and type Debug Mode = 1 underneath the Program Options line. In the game, move your mouse pointer over Valygar and hold Ctrl + Y. Valygar will die. Then do the same thing with Ctrl + R. He will be raised, and all of his items will be on the floor.
This should take care of your problem. Please don't abuse these cheats. Remember, cheating is evil. It also makes the game boring. Then again, playing a monk does too...

Thanks for the reply holy father which unfortunately was exactly what i feared. It is a bit annoying but your suggested solution should take care of the problem. I agree with your opinion concerning cheating and have posted a subject about this earlier (Is Cheating OK?).
Do you by the way know much about art?

If Valygar can cast a Flame Blade, Shilelea(sp?) or other magical weapon spell you can try casting that and waiting for it to run out. That may reset the magical weapon flag and fix it. Also, using the Cloak of the Sewers and changing shape could as well.

Could download shadowkeeper and remove the accused item.
