I had this before in another game, but now I can't find it. Also since I have my keep can leave stuff there? Do I have to put it in a box or can I be sloppy and put it on my keep's floor?

It's in spellhold once you do the 12 riddles. As for leaving your stuff on the floor I believe you can as long as it is your stronghold.

As a general rule, if you don't need it sell it, unless its something you plan to use further on. I spend most of my surplus funds on Cloudkill spells, which if you have enough of will kill almost anything. I took out the black dragon using this method without ever seeing it (took about 6 in rapid succesion, from just outside its field of vision). If there is something I have to keep I tend to store it in one of the cells at the back of the Copper Coronet. Never had a problem.

1. Bag of Holding: Asylum - after talk with Bodhi go east. You will meet a stone golem. The bag is in one of the chests here (you do not solve 12 riddles).
2. NEVER leave your stuff on the floor! ALWAYS store it in chests! The items left on the floor vanish after some time. On the other hand, items in chests are safe with one exception: sometimes, the same area has more maps. The map changes on an important event. This may happen when:
a) You get a stronghold: for example, "de'Arnise Keep - your stronghold" is a different map from "de'Arnise Keep - full of trolls". Also "Ranger Cabin in Umar Hills - your possession" seems to be a different map from "Ranger Cabin in Umar Hills - before".
b) In a few other situations: for example, "Tombs under the Graveyard - Bodhi Finale" seems to be a different map from "Tombs under the Graveyard - before".
As far as I am concerned, I use neutral chests around.

To expand on the very accurate post above if you store your items in an area that changes after a major quest event your items will be lost!
