Not getting a Haven

Ok I know Havens are talked about..but this is about more of the logistics of it..I completed the Dane Quest without any deaths or anything..I go back to Lacroix and low and behold he doesn't give Me a haven...according to the walkthrough it's room number 4 in Skyline apartments right? Well the lock is a keycard and I can't get in...anyhelp please?

Well....which Clan does your character belong to ? Tremere and Nosferatu get their havens later in the game.

You have to be nice, and not insult the prince in any way, then he give you the haven. You can also not ask for money.

If you are cheeky to Lacroix, you won't get it until after your next mission. And since you're playing a Malk you might have been cheeky without knowing it.

i played a toreador at first and got my haven as normal but now i'm playing a malk and i got it later

So, if you're a Tremere you only get it from Strauss later on? Because it says you get it after the Dane from Prince, like all other clans. (In the walkthrough).
Also is it possible that I didn't finish the quest properly? I didn't kill anyone, but the last cop spotted me and started to shot at me, I couldn't get past him any other way, I didn't hurt him tho, just ran and jumped on the boat.

To get the Tremere haven (highlight for help, but no real spoilers):
You need to solve the Plague for the Camarilla, meaning you need to gain the quest from Strauss.
Secondly, you need to solve the Gargoyle problem in Hollywood while keeping Strauss' interests a priority.
Make sure you do the quests in this order, otherwise it doesn't work.

Well, the walkthrough was mistaken, and you shouldn't really be using one...
Lestat probably hit it right with Malk... same thing with me.
Then I tried again with options that treated him like a king instead of jester and tada!
