Multi player concern?

I was considering starting the game over, I'm about half way through, and starting with a party completely created by myself. Except for maybe one or two NPC's. My concern was, however, that I would miss out on a bunch of the quests that the other NPC's seem to find. Does anyone know if the NPC quests will still show up or will I just miss out?

You've got to have at lease SOME of the NPCs in your party to get their quests (Valygar for Planar Sphere, etc), not sure how many you can do without them. You can for some, let them join, then kick them out and finish the quest after the area opens up.

I will drive my enemies before me, take their souls and listen to the lamentation of their women echo in the Cavern of Khazad-dum.

You don't really need Valygars... Just his body. Hint: it seems to fit in you back without a problem.
Personally, I wouldn't create too many characters. The game NPC's interact a bit, and without that I think things might seem a bit stale.

I plan on starting a Multiplayer game for myself after I finish my first runthrough... I think I'll make two, maybe three characters, and fill out the rest of the party with NPCs...

Pick one up - do the quest - dump them - pick one up - do the quest - dump them - etc. (I think it is possible to do the planar sphere without picking Valygar up though - just kill him and bring the body)
