How to buy a house (SPOILERS)

I've done the quest for the countes in chorrol and the quest for the countes in bruma.
But when i ask them about buying a house they both say they don't trust me.
They both have ~ a 70 disposition towards me and my personality is 60.
I've closed one oblivion gate, if that helps. And, i've accidentaly stolen on thing which i returned and paid the fine for.
Any ideas?
I'm tired of storring my stuff in Waynon Pryory.

Please put a SPOILER thread tag on something like this, which has the potential for giving away in-game hints--just as was suggested, by chance, in the "HEY, YOU" sticky thread, meant for everybody to read at the top of the forum. I'll change this one. You're responsible for here on in.

Sorry.
If you want to delete this one, ok
I didn't think this gave anything away, it says in the book that you can buy a house.
Also, just a little point, when trying to hide text with the different color font. The background of the forum is charcoal and you can't pick that color! I can pick black, but you still see the text.
Maybe you could add the color of the background to the pallet? That way i need to highlight the spoiler to see it and not just look closely.

Not needed, since I've changed it, and the question is legittimate.

Not to sure about this question. havent tried Chorrol or Bruma for house buying yet... maybe it's fame related? most of the other towns are letting me buy with 70 disposition

I'll second this question as it appears to be the only thread that comes up in a search. It appears the queen (?) is the one that has to approve the purchase of a house and I can't get her disposition any higher.

The countess in Chorral doesnt want anyone who isnt "famous" living in her town. So you have to have lots of fame. I, personally, still dont have enough, which stinks.
Then again, I dont have enough money, either.

I actually got it as a quest to buy one in Skingrad. Very odd. I think it does have to do with fame, not just money, because I've asked there before and nothing happened, and now suddently a quest!

I had 10 fame when I bought the chorrol one I think. The house itself is 20k gold be aware tho, that the house only comes with 1 chair and bed, the rest of the furniture has to be bought as well. Depending on your mercantile skill this can be anywhere between 20-50k I think.

If you want to get the quests for all the houses/ extra quests, just go to the arena and get to be grand champion. I haven't done much to get my fame up then besides that and some little quests and my fame is 52 right now. Then it seens that every town when I'm hiting wait so that I can rob a house at nice people always come and get me out of waiting early. But they have many good quests.
