Can anybody tell me when and where Jaheira's Harper mentor Dermin shows up to accost my party? I gave them ample time to do so in Chapter 2 (I got called in for Galverey's Inquisition and talked down the Harper sent to kill Jaheia, but I have quested in vain to find this Dermin chap, and I'd like to have the romance active wen I confront Bodhi so I can get the reverse vampirism quest. I guess now I'll have to wait till I pop out of the Underdark, but can someone tell me what event triggers Dermin's appearance?

And out of curiosity, anybody tried romancing Viconia as an evil character? If you give her evil responses to her queries, can you still romance her, or do you have to stick with the kind answers?

If I recall correctly then Dermin is not essential for the romance script, indeed the romance script blocks the harper scripts until it has progressed a certain amount between each event.

If you are evil and "play the role" then Viconia will not find any love for you. Let's face it. Who would want to date someone evil that doesn't think you're above his wickedness?

Hmmm.......then why is my romance apparently stalled? Does it really take THAT long to get Jaheira over Khalid? I know I haven't screwed up the romance, because I still get romantic conversations, but the relationship doesn't appear to be going anywhere past the "oops I almost admitted I like him" stage. Oh well....maybe the dialogue just isn't a good indicator of how it's going.

That's about what I thought.....oh well. Just thought maybe it'd be neat to give her what she apparentlt wants (though, in all fairness, I never had her in my group for any length of time, so I don't know the tone of her romantic dialogues)

Well, picture yourself trying to breach a wall with a dull knife, while you actually can't breach it with anything short of an atom bomb. With Viconia, it's a constant uphill mental battle, in which you have to remain nice and kind for the romance to work out. She tries so hard for you NOT to like her (trust me, she will tell some pretty hefty stuff from her past to do so), that eventually she gives up ... and that's where the romance gets really nice, although it takes a really LOOOOOOOOONG time to get to that point. And right when she has surrendered to you, and had some really nice intimite moments, Lloth will ruin it all ...

I HATE Lolth! I was this close *holds tip of index finger very close to thumb* to have my original character from BG1 (and the one that I identify the most with) to actually think that the light at the end of the tunnel might actually be the candlelight of a real home with a real family.

Instead it was just the glint of envy in the eyes from a obnoxious meddling demon spider demoness of a brat. Anyone else with me if they give us halfachance to give Lolths butt a well deserved kicking in the sequel/expansion?

Well,since you are ,after all,a godlike "creature",what with Bhaal being your daddy;it could just mean that Lolth is jealous of Viconia and desires you all for herself. One might never know, especially with such a wicked goddess....Maybe you can begin some sort of romance with her in a sequel, much better than kicking her butt!

I mean, I (and many others with me, like you) have come from too far to have such a tiny spider demoness, that you can crush under your bootheel, mess things up. Come on, she should realise just WHO she angered ... ( + )

"Me, meet Lloth! Lloth, meet ME!!" (free interpretation of a quote uttered by another favorable character of the game, who most certainly wouldn't mind in assisting in using some boots in a violent way and such ... )

I take it that ye kiddies never played the PnP adventure called "Queen of the demonweb"? Let's just say that Lolth, though able to transform into such a hottie that men fall faint due to large amount of blood rushing from the brain to elsewhere, does not look nearly as pretty in her "natural" form (GMs vivid description did not help a bit to win her any sympathy pity either). Let's face it. Spiders are not the cutest animals around.

Yes, I don't think Lolth really knows who the heck she's dealing with. She might have had a chance before I got to Hell, but after placing all 5 tears, only her own nasty self would be powerful enough to smack me down, no little peon demons and such.
