Shovel??

Help me please!!! I am currently trying to marry the mayor of Bowerstone and she asked me to get her necklace, and I found out that it was burried between the 2 boats but how do I dig it up? Ive heard that a shovel icon is supposed to appear but it doesnt when i'm standing by the boats, in fact ive never had a shovel. Do I have to buy one some where or do I get it automatticly. By the way what is the shoval icon? Any help would be appreciated and no spoilers please.

You buy it, in the store with the reg goods. The icon is that tiny circle in the middle of three on your left, you press F2 I believe to activate it. It can be many things, for fishing, eating when in need of health, etc.

You also find a shovel (the game calls it a spade by the way) in a treasure chest at lychfield graveyard.

U now know bout the spade, but if the icon still doenst appear:
I don't think a spade icon isn't supposed to appear in this side-quest. U should just try to dig from the items menu.

Ahh yes, I just went to the shop in Oakvale and it was under Other items. Thanks!

You can buy a shovel / spade from multiple shopkeepers. Just about any shopkeeper that sells items will have one. Just look under Items >> Other.
The shovel icon will show up in that action panel in the lower left of your screen. If I remember correctly, on a PC game it will appear on the top icon and use F1 to activate it. On the XBox I think it shows up on the bottom icon (where your guild seal icon is normally) and you will press the down-direction on the game pad.
You can also manually start the dig operation by going to your item menu, slecting the shovel and selecting "Use".
