I'm a level 24 sorcerer, completely legit, and I still havent had a romance with any of the characters in BG2. You would THINK the gals would be fallin all over a striking young drow such as myself but nooooooooooo, even after beating the whole game they avoid me like the plague, or herpes. So what do I have to do, exactly, to have a romance with a character in BG2? And with whome can I have one?

What's your CHA score? I'm not 100% sure if it makes a difference, but when I played through as a mighty Dwarf with a 7 CHA, I didn't get any romance dialogues--but lo and behold, Aerie and Jaheira both were falling all over me until I told Aerie (politely) I wasn't interested. What can I say? I like Jaheira's spirit more than Aerie's vulnerability.

mine is usually 10-12, but my paladin has something like 15.
Bah, how can you choose Jaheira over Aerie?
1. Aerie is cuter(for a character in a game)
2. She's nicer
3. She's vulnerable and not a tom boy.

But then again, I would rather go with Viconia because she is a drow, like my character, bah. oh well.=)

Level 24, completely legit? You mean except for removing the exp cap.

Unless you're half-orc, elf, dwarf, or gnome you shouldn't have problems with romances with any of the 3. Viconia doesn't like elves, none of them like dwarves or gnomes and I've heard various things about the half-orcs so I'm not sure.

Romance scripts are also based on RL time in the game. So if you put it on the character portrait screen, go away for a couple hours, and come back the romance dialogs trigger within a few minutes.

Perhaps Kordeth means he prefer the more experienced one...... well most of us do...then again Aerie is a real whiner. She kept nagging about her wings and Blah Blah blah..... I myself don't find that attractive.

As for female drow main char, i don't think there's any romance available since according to the story most race have something toward drows.

bah, my char is an elf. I dont like playing anything other than elves either. So is it possible to have a romance? I wanted one with Viconia. I guess that leads to my new question which is, can you have a romance if your not a human?

To bad that the designers didn't include any female half-orcs,gnomes and dwarves NPC's in the game: now players are less inclined to choose these races because of the lack of any romance!

Mazzy ought to be available as a romance for dwarves, gnomes, and half-lings.

you can definitely have a romance as a non-human player. I'm a elf mage and Aerie and Jaheira had a huge fight concerning me. My charisma is 18 (ring of human influence). I'm not quite sure what will happen with Aerie, but she seems quite keen on me. I'm only on chapter 2 however.

My char is a 1/2 elf with 18 Cha (ring). I managed to get Aerie and Jaheira to fight over me. I chose Aerie since she was young and innocent. After hooking up with her, Jaheira wanted no more romance from me. So I booted her butt out and got Viconia.
Unfortunately she doesn't want anything to do with me because my Reputation is too good now (19). But even when I brought her in to the party (and rep was ~13) she never made any advances.

Do you only get one romance per game? Has anyone successfully nailed (for lack of a better word) more than 1?

I don't think you can romance Vic if you are Elf. Since there's a bad blood between elves and drows.
About Mazzy romance it haven't been confirmed yet. Anyone have the information ?

I don't think you can romance more than one person since i have tried romancing Vic and Jaheira, Jaheira and Aerie, Aerie and Vic. At some point they ask you to make a choice. FYI i always dump Aerie.

Ok, I know I'm going to come off as a freak for asking this, but wasn't there an Imoen romance also? I could've swore that I saw a discussion of her romance on some board. Maybe I was hallucinating, because logic tells me that no one is willing to risk any controversy by implementing an incestial relationship. Even though, that kind of stuff happened alot back in those days.

Yusuuke, no need to worry about the freak thing. As i recall when i played BG1 Imoen seems have something on your main char. But i think lots of player never have any chance try to romance her since the pace of the story realy makes you want to know the end of the game after the Asylum part.

BTW does your nick have something to do with "YUYUHAKUSHO" anime? I think the lead male called Yuusuke Urameshi.

no, it's from Tenshi no Narumon. The male lead...ok, ok, I know that is a really shoujo anime. But the characters and the story is sooo damn cute!

of course Outlaw Star is also very good... but I digress.
