So my character is a vampire, and due to the buggy nature of vampirism (example: entering the sunlight damage stage only hours after feeding), I'm trying to change back. I'm at the part where you need to get the ashes of a powerful vampire, argonian blood, 5 nightshade, 6 garlic and 2 of that stalk thing. I have it all, except the quest npc doesn't detect the stalks.

Anyone else run into this or discover some kind of way to work around it?

Did every part of the quest, have bloodgrass (bought versions) in my inventory, npc won't recognise the bloodgrass portion of the quest.

tried the quest twice yes im a glutton for punishment, no change.

any solution or code for console that will allow you to force completion of a quest or a way to turn my cute dark elf or was cute looks kinda like a 90 day old prune now :/

I'm a vampire and want to change back too. I was told to see some guy in the Arcadia University, then he sent me to Shinkrad(spelling?) to see some guy, then he told me to look for some witch south of chyndinhal. I think I found her and she told me to find 5 emtpy grand soul gems before she can help me. Am I on the right path to curing my vampirism?

Yes you are.

as for the NPC thing, check it all again.. and you guys sure you got the argonian blood and all the ather .. cause i tought i had 5 shades 2.. but 1 of em was Flax.. ? and if you realy checked it all.. i could make a mod.. but i think you just need to talk to the NPC with all they options..

Checked for the third time. all checked
she no longer asks for anything no options except
rumour and vampire cure
she never asked for or took the blood grass.

I think its bugged out in some way.
All items were correct and she took all items
nightshade
Garlic
argonian blood
vampire ash
(each of theses also had a seperate click icon for more detail)
but blood grass didn't have any further details and
she doesn't take it from me.

There seem to be quite a few problems with vampire quests. Perhaps there is a way to use the console to make her take it. I know this was done with Jauffre and the amulet ... but we need the right ID and command. I'll take a look-see around.

EDIT: Okies, we probably need "player.setstage XXXX XX" (like MQ02 42) but we need to find the right one for this part of the quest. I can't look till tomorrow so if anyone knows please post it

I was getting stuck with this Vampire Cure thing, too.

I found a mod and installed it that allows one to buy Cure Vampire potions from selected shops.

Guys can you please give me the exact name of the quest, as well as the name of the NPC that you are having trouble with. Thanks.

Gah this is confusing to the maximum. Is she supposed to give you anything after you give her all those ingredients? I am trying to locate the problem but it isn't easy. The quest editor is somewhat confusing, but I can't seem to locate the silly thing (the quest). She is marked as an essential char but as someone who does not give a quest item, that's why I'm asking.

Okies, lets try like this - please save before mucking about with it, am not sure what'll happen -

- hit ~ to bring up the console
- type "set MS40.bloodgrassvar to 2" without the quotations

or if that won't do it (again without the ")

- type "player.additem 00033664 2" and then talk to her.

Let me know how this goes.

Ok, here is my "fix".

She wouldn't except any of my ingredients (except for ash and blood).

After I choose rumors she told me not to eat nightsahde because it's poisonous blablabla.

After that she did except my stuff but only in the order of nightshade -> bloodgrass -> garlic. Bit odd

Did something really foolish.. I got the quest done no problems, had the potion, and turned it over to the count before drinking my own dose, any way for me to get cured now? Tried looking over the dead woman's body for the potion, no dice.

Bah, nm, she gave two potions and not one with two doses, heh, disregard

Maybe bloodgrass doesn't work if you buy it, maybe you have to find it in the woods.

Got a question, after you get the cure and cure youself you'll probly come across more vampires again. So that mean you'll get the disease again, will you have to go throw all this again?

Where do I find bloodgrass?

That super vampire dude was surprisingly easy to kill.

Buy them.

Visit the plane of Oblivion ie go play around with one of the Oblivion Gates. It's there.
