Can I drop/get rid of old maps etc from quests? (possible minor spoiler)

As I progress (and still can't buy a house), what can I do with these old maps, diaries, directions, notes (etc) that I've gotten (such as directions to Pale Pass). They take up space and I don't think I need them but they have no sale value. Should I find a place to stash these or just get rid of them?
