How Should I React ??? ....

Please take a look to this article.
I'd like to hear your thoughts, your feelings ...

Unfortunately the article isn't up-to-date ...
well.. the child has been found [do not read it if you are easily impressionable]

dead. They almost stifled him trying to stop his cry then they finished him with a shovel, beating him again and again, desfeaturing the helpless toddler. Eventually they threw his massacred body in a river.

*grunts* I do believe my grandfather on my father's side of the family is a part of the one branch of my family that broke away from the mafia here right before his eldest daughter was born. Most of his distant cousin's were, or are still involved. Frankly, from what I know of the organization, doing something of that nature is akin to a horrid sin to them. I'd say the father or mother were involved is my honest opinion. Unless the mafia has truly changed their code over in Italy from how it used to be, they would never harm the child beyond killing the parents and leaving the children alive as orphans.

How should you react? I do not know. I'm disgusted personally.

Which isn't to say someone from the mafia wouldn't try it. The younger members might consider it initiative, that such "traditions" like that practice Magrus mentioned as being limited. Still, the idea that the parents might be involved isn't too far-fetched.

It seems that, as the father of the toddler was collecting child-pornographic materials in order to report it to the police and lodge a complaint, the kidnapping could be some kind of revenge or blackmail...

The abductors have been caught. They were the bricklayers who were renovating Tommy's house...
On the head of the mob burden accusations of rape of a 22 years old woman, false imprisonment, mugging, damnification and illegal guns carriage...

UNBELIEAVABLE!!
Now we can add to the list kidnap and murder of a 18 months old child..

Truely a sad, sad story, but something that befuddled me was what did the dog have to do with it? I mean, I doubt the family would go out of its way to find a dog (maybe I've just naiive?). I doubt the dog had anything to do with the child's kidnapping, though.

The dog could have made a bunchof noise to alert the family of the kidnappers, so they did something with it, is my guess.

Truly, this is a sad story.

I agree. My assumption about the dog was that they were getting rid of it so they wouldn't have to deal with it during the kidnapping.

How you should react? Don't let anyone else tell you how you should react. Be your own master and make up your own mind. (Having a sane discussion about things never hurts though.)

Personally it doesn't bother me the least.* The world won't change whether I feel sorry for the baby/parents or not. Why take in the troubles of all the world when you can't do anything about it anyway?

*Of course, I don't support the act.

OK Yarr.. I agree, but I meant to say "come on guys! share your thoughts, your feelings" ;)

Hmm... about the dog ... it seems that the dog was taken away so that it could have kept the toddler company but, since the child was killed 2 days after the kidnapping, they free it...
Honestly I'm inclined to support Chus' guess... it could have made some noise and alerted the family ...
