I got the modified histachii brew [just the one] and used it to get past Sseths Eye and lower the drawbridge. I've talked to Thorasskus several times, but I can't provoke him into revealing himself. I've been back to Nheero, who's still in the prison, but all he says is that he'll do some research in the library after his transformation. What transformation? Am I supposed to get him a modified histachii brew? I've tried this, but the bloke in the alchemy lab just says that he's already produced it. The modified root's still on the table where I left it after getting the first brew, but I can't make any more [despite having a wizard with an Alchemy or 24].

What am I supposed to do next?

Yes, you are supposed to give Nherro a saotaged brew. You should be able to make them with your wizard. You might try picking the root up, and putting it back again. Are you sure you're pulling the lever?

This might be an odd glitch in the game, which prevents you from making the brew after you get the lab guy to do it. I don't know, but you can cheat the sabotaged brew in, to fix this problem. Having the brew in your inventory will probably work, when you talk to Nherro. The code for the sabotaged brew is 61POTNSB. If you need assistance with using a cheat, let me know.

When talking to Thorasskus, you might try using a paladin, or possibly a character with high intel. He may reveal himself more readily to some characters than others.

No paladin, but one of the wizards has an intel of 21, and using him to talk to Thorasskus did the trick - thanks!!

Still no luck making a second brew - tried picking up the modified root and putting it back and I've tried pulling the lever with every member of my party! Do I miss anything by not making a brew for Nheero? Altho' I've got six or seven wyvern poisons I haven't yet found out what I should do with them, or why [apart from reading the walkthrough, which isn't really in the spirit of the game!]. Would Nheero tell me if I can get him to the library? Would appreciate help on 'how to cheat'!

I'm not sure exactly what happens if you fail to give Nherro a brew, because I just always do it. Just to be safe, I'd give him one. He travels to the next level when you do. If this is really a glitch, and you can't make the brew:

Go to your IWD2 directory, and find the configuration program. Bring it up, and click on the second tab. Find the check box labeled "enable cheat console." Check the box.

In the game:
press ctrl+tab
type ctrlaltdelete:createitem("61POTNSB",1)
press enter

On the level of Dragons Eye below the lab, you will see water sinks, about 4 of them, and you should put the wyvern poison in them. This may have something to do with getting the door to the next level to open, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone else can confirm this. Anyway, that's what you do with the poison.

That's great - I never knew the cheat console existed! Is there guide using it or a list of items posted somewhere?

Got the modified brew, gave it to Nheero, caught up with him in the egg chamber - now the b**** isn't in the library where he said he would be, even after I've rested five or six times. I see there are a few posts about this in other threads - I hope they prove to be as helpful as Sparrow!

You can forget about Nherro at this point. He can answer questions about creatures he's researched, but that's about it. You can move on to the next level, or go after the Holy Avenger.

By the way, the next level is the most annoying part of the game! Just wanted to warn you... hehe.
