Problem!

Hey all,
I just started playing this game (yes, I know it's old) for the first time. Well, trying to, anyway. Whenever I click on 'New Game' and get passed the loading screen, my game crashes/freezes. Every time.
Any suggestions?
So sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find anything.

I had a similar problem when I first got KotOR. My problem was quite simple -- my computer was pathetic for gameplay at the time. What are your specs?

My computer should have no problem running the game. 1GB RAM, GeForce 5600FX 256MB video card, 2.8Ghz Pentium 4.

Solution?
I may have a solution to your problem! Sometimes even though you have enough memory to install the game-which obviously you have because otherwise you can't play it-there still is a problem. You still need to have a fair amount of space left for it to work. You should have about 5 GB. If you don't it might not work. The PC doesn't count 5GB or less low space unless it is really low so you should go on add/remove progs. I have no idea if you have this memory or not but if you dont this could well be the problem. If this does not work (as I have seen you already have the requirements) it is most likely a problem with the game.
