Just a few questions

Hello, thank you for reading.
I have some questions:
1.) How and where can you extract NEther Katals from the wild? I have the alchemy spell so this would be useful for me to make spells, how can I know where to seek for that place where you get them (in the wild)?
2.) How do I know if my poison attack was effective? I know that when you cast spells like Slow of Fear an icon should appear over the enemies head, but how can I know if they're poisonned?
3.) I use the Slow, Soften or Weaken spells on the enemies en even though my Nether magic level is 5 I see nothing appear above my enemies that would indicate my spell was succesful?
4.) And I was just wondering: Is it true there is no fireplace at Arindales inn? I know there's one a bit to the north of Arindale but isn't it wierd an inn hasn't got a Fireplace?
Thank you very much, Project-404.

1. You get the kataals from the enemies you kill. You don't harvest them from plants or anything. I'm not sure if the alchemy skill actually does anything.

4. If you're playing the CE, then you'll find fireplaces in Arindale. Otherwise, you'll have to use the campfires in the wilds nearby.

The main fireplace in the Arindale Inn doesn't work, but in the rooms some of the firestones do. You will want to visit all the rooms anyway, since you can pick the locks on the cabinets for some minor gear.
