Hermaeus Mora Shrine (spoilers)

Far off the beaten path I have found the shrine to daedra lord Hermaeus Mora. When I activate the shrine, or speak to the community members, I am told I have not travelled the proper path to speak to the daedra lord.

The proper "path" could mean a lot of things - from how I behave (good, evil, etc) to a specific place I have travelled. I have read the various daedra books for clues, and find nothing....

Anyone know what the proper "path" is?

its a bit of a humdinger this one, and long so i'm just cutting and pasting from elsewhere...

# Complete all of the other 14 Daedric quests
# Have reached the "Blood of the Daedra" segment of the main quest, in which you are assigned to collect a Daedric artifact
# Have reached level 21 or higher

Thanks....... I qualify for two of the three, but haven't finished all the other daedra shrinews yet.

Out of curiosity, is there any way to figure that out from within the game? I spent quite a while trying to find clues to this, but nothing sgowed up...

It seems like if there were a limitation like that they would make it apparent in the game somehow....

Well I talked to the worshipers that wear robes, like Priests and usually I get enough info for them that I am able to activate the quest. If they are not there for me to talk to, I just take it as given that I am not there yet when it comes to conditions. I am searching for them on my own, and also looking for clues on my own, and so far it is working well, by using this tactics.

You need to visit all other Deadra Shrines before allowed to speak Hermaeus Mora.

Agreed - sometimes it even takes a bribe to get the information about what the proper offering is. But not with this one.....I have bribed and charmed my way to the max, and I am still told that I haven't followed the right path - but no clue what the path is.

I understand I need to visit all the shrines first - but it would be nice if there were some in-game indication of that so I didn't have to come here looking for spoilers.

The fact that they're telling you that should be indication enough. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, someone will tell you to go to that shrine once you've met the requirements.

Pillage, that is not the issue. The issue is what do you do when you stumble upon them - like I always do for example - and how do you then 'open' the quests, As I've said if you aren't finding anything, I think that means it is not yet time for the quest to activate.

One of the requirements states that you must have reached the quest in which you are ordered to acquire a daedric artifact, correct? Then, if you have already completed that task would it have any negative effects on your rendevouz with hermaeus mora?

I have already achieved a level of 34 for my character, completed th main quest and visited and quested for the remaining 14 shrines and their lords (excluding mehrunes). Still, the followers of hermaeus claim that i have yet to follow the recquired path. Assistance anyone?

Well ... I am not sure. I went into the TES CS and this is what it says for the opening of the quest:

A man has told me that Hermaeus Mora wishes for me to visit his shrine.

Sooooo ... someone apparently approaches you. I have no idea where. Will look though, but we can always trigger it by console eventually ;)
