The last 2 Sigils in Idol room? Cannot find...

Hello, regarding this which I snipped from the `help` thread above:



"The Idol - Phew! They keep coming. Now you can either scout around and take out all the skeltons for the XP or swoop in for the kill on the Idol. Try removing some of the powerful Zombies/Mummies first - drawing them off one by one. They cast symbols & hoplessness. What to do? Infeno cloud works, as does some blast magic. Otherwise, ready those +X weapons. The Idol is compartively easy - you should have an Elfbone Ring or the shield of the dead. These protect from death magic. Kill the idol and the undead will fall.

At some point you should go back to the Seldarine with books & the arboretum stuff (you did talk to Nym before killing him, right?) for the XP."





Ok, I`ve done all this and I`ve activated 4 of the 6 sigils that lead upstairs: The Pike, the eye, the unicorn and the dove. But no matter where I go I cannot find a means to activate the last 2. The last 2 have that blue border around them meaning something can be done, but I can`t find a way to activate them.

I have been EVERYWHERE several times. The place is almost literally a ghost town. One thing I did was let a thief go as long as he gave us all his stuff, was this a mistake?

Also, I don`t remember Nym, may be we did come across him/her, maybe we killed the character before it could talk? And there was a woman with a bunch of giant viking warriors whom we killed before she could talk. Was she meant to tell us something?

I get the grim feeling that I and my daughter have gone this far into IcewindDale just to have it stop on us cos we moved a bit too fast for it.

I hate asking for help as I got through BG1 and 2 without needing to ask, but IWD has pushed me to that point.

Basically, How do I get up that spiral stairs? Where are the last 2 Sigils to activate it?

Did you get the Sigil from the Frost Giants close to the area with the ice museum?

There's an area off the main cavern with Sverfneblin, who you can talk to, get supplies for and they will reveal the way towards Nym and a Village.

I don't think you'll have missed anything vital by killing that woman.

Did you meet Saablic Tan (the talking Umber Hulk) in Upper Dorn's Deep in a cave off the building with the Drow inside? He has a Sigil too, I think.

So, the eye is Malavon's badge, the dove is Perdiem's, the unicorn is Ilmadia's, and the pike is... Marketh's? There are only these four badges in Lower Dorn's Deep. I'm assuming that the woman with viking warriors you referred to was Ilmadia with her fire giants, and no, nothing bad happens if you kill her without dialogue first. Letting Marketh go isn't bad either, as long as you get his badge.

I think you may have missed one or more areas. The following is a detailed list of how to find them, expanding on what Ravager said.

1) Remember the drow in Upper Dorn's Deep? The start of that area is a long bridge with drow and orc archers waiting in ambush. If you go left around the corner, then turn right and go straight, you encounter a small room with more drow in it (top left on your map). Behind them is a door, leading to a cave. The leader of the troops within, Krilag, has a badge.

2) Did you clear out the Aquarium with all the frost salamanders in Wyrm's Tooth? There are slaves in the basement. A slave on the left side near the bookshelves has an Engineering Manual. If you already completed the quest to free the slaves, don't worry, the Manual should still be on the floor - search around.

3) The entrance to the Frost Giant Caverns is in the extreme lower left of Wyrm's Tooth. There is a ruined bridge there. If you have the Engineering Manual, you can fix the bridge and get across to the cave entrance. The frost giant leader has a badge.

4) Nym is in the Svirfneblin village. Near the top left of Lower Dorn's (near an entrance to the minotaur/umber hulk area) is a circular lift. Down below is a gem mine with svirfnebli in it, who give you a quest. If you keep moving along you eventually come to what looks like a deadend passage (top right). Umber hulks burst out, and once you kill them you have access to the village through the holes they leave.

Ravager and Aerich, you`ve helped solve the problem.

I see what happened now, I`d met Saablic Tan much earlier, but he said go elsewhere to collect the Sigils, so we did. Then I promptly forgot about the incident. Your instructions also reminded me of the Frost Giants who I wrongly assumed weren`t involved.

In fact, I assumed the Sigils must all be comfined just to Worm`s Tooth (Lower Dorn`s deep) which was my mistake.

Found the Sigils and went to battle with Mr. P. The rest I won`t say so as not to spoilt it for others.

My daughter and I, thank you both. :)
