Hi, I was just wondering if anyone out there would know how to (if it can indeed be done) put a video from a dvd onto an iPod video? Note the intended dvd is just a short live performance dvd.
Really, I'm wondering if anyone knows how to rip (some of) the video on the dvd and put it onto the computer. From the title and my post, it may come to no surprise that I'm quite computer illiterate (advanced [well, for ME anyways ] stuff that is, like the aforementioned conundrum I face!)

The simplest way to rip a DVD to DivX/XviD is to use FairUse. After you've done that use this to re-encode the video to the format that iPods use.

I've never actually used any of those programs (though they're as far as I know the most popular for ripping dvds and encoding video to the iPod standard) so I can't offer more specific help; you'll need to read the documentation that comes with them for specific instructions.

You should probably also be aware that ripping a DVD is almost never easy, as DVD protections are extremely common. Blame the MPAA for that one
