I finally installed my new Saphire Radeon x1600 pro video card, and when I started the game, I was totally flippin out at how sweet everything looked. However, when I left the first dungeon and went out into the wild, the screen will freeze from time to time when I look at a far-off location or some sprawling landscape. The only way to solve these "freezes" is to look down, or up, or away. The game keeps going while it freezes, because when it goes back to normal, I've usually changed position. If anyone can explain, or give a solution, I would appreciate it somewhat.
Still crapping my pants at these awesome graphics,

Similar Issue
Warning: **Spoiler**
I seem to have a similar issue with the TG quest the ultimate heist, an issue that however hinders me from completing the TG line of quests.
The game pauses during dialogue between the countess and the gray fox as it should. However when the gray fox leaves the halls the game remains seemingly paused, or at least my functions are disabled and i am only able to turn around using the mouse. The surrounding NPCs continue their work and the countess once again rests herself in the chair (backwards for some reason). And i am not given anything by th gray fox, he merely leaves the hall when the dialogue between him and the countess ceases.
Anyone have the same problem?
is there anything wrong with your monitor? or computer?
this happened to me n all i did wus clean my comp a lil n it sorta fixed it.
Soooo.. I went after the inside of my tower using a presurized air canister, and while that certainly made things look nicer on the inside, I don't think it made much difference.
However, despite that, I think I has the solution: For some reason, the game ran last time without any lag or freezing when I turned off Anti-Aliasing (or whatever its called). I don't know why that worked, and I'm not sure that it even worked at all (this happened once before; I load up, there's no lag, and then on the next load, theres lag again). Since I don't know whether or not I've actually solved the problem, I'd ask the Moderators to keep the thread open for a day or so, so that I can run some tests and junk.

Please note, that not only Graphics card determines frame rate. This simptom can be because:
- Your hard drive cannot bring fast enough texture and object data to GPU. (Because you have slow HD or your anivirus software scans files the game is using).
- Your CPU power is to low.
- Disable antivirus while you play Oblivion.
- Disable any other software that uses HD (like downloader applikations);
- Put game files and swap (page) file on diffetent HD (not diferent partitions);
- simply by SCSI or SATA HD
Sorry for my bad Eanglish
