great way to kill dragons fast!!

hello, so i just noticed something that makes it very easy and quick to kill fire drakes.
this only works if you have an arcane skill of maybe 10+, could work if you have it lower, but would take longer, mine arcane is lvl 17 now, and it really works good.
its that the spell whirlwind stacks. i didnt think of casting it multiple times, but you can. when you have four or more whirlwinds going on a fire drake, you see this constant stream of damage, 20,23,21,30,25,26 and so on, and the whirlwinds chase the drake, and last pretty long.
i killled a fire drake in maybe a minute or two, i didnt even have to swing my weapon once, or cast any other spell.
even better, if you are a warlock or war witch like me, all that magic damage is drained back to your health, so i was at full health after it died
im assuming you can probably whirlwind most things to death. i tried it in this room of monsters, cast the spell multiple times, they all died very fast.
so have fun
oh...and dont do what i just did, i took the dragon eggs for fun, and i think that stops them from spawning again...i put them back, but i dunno, maybe they dont come back, anyone know about this? will i get dragons again?

The fire drakes don't re-spawn, no matter what you do with the eggs.

im assuming you mean the drakes over the nests, that they dont come back.
but when i went back to the spawning area to check again, some drakes did spawn in that general area, so i guess you can still get drakes, its just now a random encounter. just when i found a fun way to kill them too....

so i tested whirlwind on some bosses, and if there ever is a boss you have problems with, or just cant be bothered to fight im sure you can whirlwind them to death.
i just used whirlwind on the fiend of ghazbu, that supposedly super tough demon and the "toughest battle in the game" in the tomb of souls. and it was sooo much fun.
he was in a coffin, so he couldnt move away from the whirlwinds, i cast about 10-15 whirlwinds, i was doing constant 85,89,100,92,103,95 damge, in under a minute, he was dead, and i was at full health with my warlock drain life, and over a million xp richer. haaa
but i think this spell must be an exploit, i dont think the developers realised how powerful this spell is. so i fought him a second time just for fun.
watch out how you use it though, i used it on sleth silverbane, that guild of mystery quest, he was near a valley wall, the whirlwind blew him up the cliff wall, then way up on top, i was lucky he didnt die up there, or i would have had to reload, he drops a safe house key you need.
if anyone wants to have fun whirlwinding the fiend of ghazbu to death, let me know, i can send you my saved game i have just before the battle.

Another good way to fight any high lvl create/boss, is to use the following all at once
Potion of power, blood lust potion, blade of baal, berserk, bloodlust, beast, divine strike, and the boon/ rune strike and armor spells. I did this when i fought the fiend of Gazbu (I was a deathlord) and i was hitting over a 70s+ almost every hit.
I suppose if you wanted you could use fear and soften too, but i didnt try those.

Is there any place you can buy Whirlwind at the point when Fargrove is still closed? I only grabbed one copy before heading to Arindale. Sadly, I only grabbed one Blast Nova as well, and have really regretted it so far. And don't suggest editing the save file, I prefer not to do that ...

If you sell an item to a shop, you'll "seed" the item in the shop, and then you'll be able to buy back as many as you'd like.

Either this has changed in CE, or it matters what merchant you sell to. I tried with the guy in the treehouse on the way to Arindale, and at the temple in town; once I sold the books, they did not appear at all to buy. I suppose I can try Rianne too, but it's a hike ... I suppose it's worth it if it works.

OK, it worked for Rianna. Apparently, it has to be the type of merchandise the merchant would deal in normally. Makes sense, I suppose.

on the topic of seeding, creating supplies for yourself of spells and reagents, make sure whenever you get a dried homumculus that you sell it as soon as possible to feras dul in skulldoon, i think he has the cheapest prices in the realm, maybe someone can recommend someone cheaper, just dont sell to the elves they have the highest prices, and if you get cataclysm, sell your copy to feras dul as well, then youll have unlimited amounts to buy for yourself, just choose a shop with low prices so you can buy it back.

I always sell to mage alistir in fargrove, because he is right next to the moonbridge, so it comes in real handy

I found that mage alistor in fargrove also has the cheapest prices for everything too.

Would Master picklocks be different?
I somehow obtained 4 master picklocks in fargrove, probably in the slums fighting the master thieves and I used a couple in the custard mansion but did not use the last so that I could sell it to the woman Delia in the Curio shop in the slums. When I tried to buy it back it only allowed me to buy one and then she didn't have it anymore. ( I am playing CE by the way). anybody have suggestions or similar experiences? It is very early in the game and I have selected Mage, then Rogue but have not been to Skuldoon for the Rogue stuff to become active.

kill the drakes in 2 trys
The best way to kill fire drakes is cast cataclysm. it will take 2 casts. Each one does about 750 points damage. Every once in a while I go dragon hunting and if your real lucky you can get 2 to spawn. Thats some nice quick points.

If your still early in the game, (for mages), get some zap spells and then when you first go to the breeding grounds to get an egg, simply draw one dragon away and get behind a tree, wait for it to land and with the tree between the two of you, it will shoot fire at you but the tree will take the damage. Use your homing spells, zap worked really well, and just plug away at em. It'll take awhile but if your a young character looking for experience and if you have the patience, it's easy experience. So is going to the moonstone island and having the moonbeasts chase you to the water and kill them with ranged attacks from the water. That's how I got my mage leveled pretty high before I even went to Skuldoon.
