Do you have to be in a specific part of the game to get younger? Or can you do it whenever you have freetime?

Is there a way to get younger but stay on the good side? I read the FAQ and didn't really see anything specific about this.

you can only get younger by donating to the temple of avo and sacrificing at the chaple of skorm
