Wondering and Wandering...

First posting since Wizardry 8! Most of the time I manage to figure things out for myself...but this one has me stumped. Okay, so I have just managed to complete the Argalia Quest and now I have the Bracers of Defense and the Magic Mirror. At this point I save outside the tower (forgot to say all this is in Arindale), as was suggested in the Walkthrough. Once inside, I speak to what's-his-name and go to leave, but he doesn't stop me and let me in to see Emmindor. No matter what I do, he becomes unapproachable at this point. Perhaps there is something else that I need to do before being allowed entrance...nothing specific in the walkthrough that I can see. Any help or ideas, rather, would be appreciated.

You do have the horn don't you, or did you prematurely place it in the chamber of talendor before talking to Emmindor the first time?

Still Wondering...

Thanks for the replies...first to correct a newbie mistake: I am playing CE. Now the answers: To George -- even though I have been to the Talendor area of the game, it was kind of by mistake and all I did was discover how quickly monster groups pop up near the ruins. After several fights, I ran away. I checked my inventory, and I still have the horn. I do happen to have it equipped...would that make a difference? hmmm...Now to Cold Fury -- I believe so...although there doesn't seem to be many chat options available. Fortunately, I do have a save from just before I enter the Tower, so I can verify...here goes nothing.
