bugged quest npc's

Anyone else have a problem with npc's being stuck in "user is busy and can not begin dialogue"? Three quest lines currently are bugged for me and I really do not want to start over again. Any fixes for this problem?

Verify that you are running the latest version with all patches installed.
I had that problem too and resolved it by installing the latest patch.
If you recently purchased the game it is possible that the patch is already on one of the CDs and you just need to install it.

It happens to me often but I simply reload the game and it usually stops.

This is a well known bug that is contained in the initial release of Throne of Bhaal. It occurs on all computers that are running Windows 2000 (Service Pack 2 or higher) or Windows XP (so obviously, a lot of people were affected by it). Bioware fixed this particular bug a week after Throne of Bhaal was released. All you have to do is install the Official Throne of Bhaal Patch, available from Bioware's website.

Thanks, getting the official patch fixed the problem.
