Infrequent music

Hi,
Is it just me, or is the music in BGII very sparse? It seems that I can go for up to a half hour without any in game music. When I do get music, it is triggered by combat or conversations. As I recall, the music in BGI was more constant/consistent. Is there anyway to fix this or is this just the way the game is made? BTW, I'm loving this game, don't mean to complain too much

Have you checked your BG2 settings?

Yup, music is turned on. In fact, all of the sound levels are maxed.

In BG2 there isn't as much music as there was in BG1 when you just walk around. But there is more ambient sounds I have noticed. Walking through the docks district at night I always hear these 2 drunk guys talking and laughing very loudly....

OK then, it's not just me. I wish the music was more constant since it is very cool music but I'm guessing there is no way to change it. Thanks for the replys guys!

Have to say, I've heard plenty of music, off and on, through every area. Some of the music has a specific ambient function, as in the different taverns. Other music seems just designed to provide a mood-inspiring background. The latter shows up perhaps 50% of the time that I'm outdoors in any given zone, if that helps.

I've noticed that the music usually starts soon after entering an area, then dies away only to start once more a few minutes later. At least that is how it is in Amkethran in ToB. Man, I LOVE the background music in that place. I sat if front of the screen with the game on pause for half an hour listening to it!

In contrast to what you describe, I seem to get music several minutes after I enter an area and usually shortly before I leave unfortunately. I too love the music and believe it is a large part of the atmosphere of the game. I therefore don't want to be missing it most of the time
