I am inches away from the finish but can't get there. I am at Gate #8 in the
Demon Realm, I have fought 4/5 Gazers, 3/4 cacodemons plus all kinds of
succubi and demons. There is nothing left to fight this side of the gate, but
it won't open. BUT there is about 5 flying things (succubi or demons) flying
high above the wall on the inside. The odd one will come down and I can kill
it through the gate, They can shoot fireballs etc. at me but I can't reach
them with my bow. Is this a bug in the game ? I really hate to have to fight
that horde of characters again to see if the gate will open and that by some
chance they got caught there by mistake. Has anyone run into this problem?
I have playe the CE edition & to this point and have not had any hangups or
problems. I have enjoyed all but a couple of spots, the pillars in the acid and
the wind thing in the the Shadow ruins.

A cataclysm spell would take out the out-of-reach monsters.

There might be one beastie stuck inside the walls near the gate. That's happened to me before. Hard to detect, but if you can figure out that they are there, often you can hit them if you are running forward while swinging away at them with any weapon with decent reach.

I tried cataclysm and it worked for the ones in the sky, but I think I set off
a breeding frenzy, since then I have been on site for nearly two hours and have killed 32 more beasties that have come down the valley and 26 of the same that keep breeding on the other side of the gate. Is this normal? If so
I will keep plugging away. There is nothing in the walls. Thanks for the tips.
If this is not normal is there any way I can use the hex program to get past the gate.(the one from Steve2) . I used it to get over the pillars.
Meanwhile back to killing beasties.

In options of main menu, make sure to set difficulty and frequency to lowest.
