Mod questions. What is an rar file and others? (spoilers, too)

1. There is a Suran mod that uses an rar file. I have no idea what that is and how to use it.
2. File Planet mods. Are all these mods to be paid for? If so, is there anyplace that's got a lot of GOOD free ones?
3. Making mods Is there a good CS tutorial. I've pulled that blooming thing up multiple times and can't figure it out. I'm not a dummy about new programs, but I'm missing something here, probably very simple.
4. The black silk pants for Ald'ruhn. Somehow I misplace, deleted, sold or lost the pants, shirt and shoes for the quests. I would like to add them back in, but I can't find the AddItem command. Could anyone point me to a list that is not just weapons of add in stuff?

1. Rar, Zip, 7z etc. are simply packaging for the contents of the mod. I use Zip Genius which unpacks nearly all of the different types.
2. No, you do not need to pay for File Planet, though they try to fool you into thinking it is necessary. All you need to do is register. Just pay careful attention to the steps, and scroll down completely at each page of the process.
4. Double click on your construction set icon. Under "File" go to "Data Files." On the screen that comes up, double click beside the box that says "Morrowind.esm." Hit "ok." (do not select as active file). You will have to click through a series of buttons, just keep hitting "ok." Eventually you will get to some multiple windows, go to the one called "Object Window." Select the "clothing" tab. All clothing IDs in the game should be listed for you.
Type into your console, exactly as follows (I have found it to be space, punctuation and case sensitive):
'Player -> AddItem "insert item ID here" 1'
Then press your Enter key.
If you have done it correctly, the line you typed into your console will turn a purple shade similar to what I used above. Close your console; the item should now be in your inventory.
Note that I placed the number at the end arbitrarily, it can be any number you want, depending on the quantity you wish. Obviously, replace my insert item ID here line with the actual ID of the item you want to add, and keep the quotes around the ID.

you can also download a free trial version of winrar that seems to function fine even once the trial runs out (at least as far as unpacking rar files - never tried its other functions)

Power archiver is cheap and good. As the the construction set. Just experiment.
