I have an party and i got Hear'dalis.
he is nice after 2/3 Blurs,Stone Skin and Tenser Transformation.
And with the gridle of Fortitude his Hitpoint ain't that bad (expacially combined with tens.trans.)
but i have a question about Offensive Spin and Defensive Spin.
i know the offensive Spin makes his movement faster and makes him hit more but what else does it do and what does the defensive Spin give for bonuses???

Cut and paste from the description (please read the kit information)
Offensive Spin: lasts 24 seconds, granting the Blade +2 to hit, +2 to damage, and an extra attack. As well, all of his attacks do maximum damage for the duration. Offensive spin cannot be used in conjunction with haste or improved haste.
Defensive Spin: lasts 24 seconds, roots him to the spot but gives -1 AC per level of experience. This armor class bonus does not go over -10.

Yep and use the ring of free movement and you can move while defensive spin.
IT IS NOT A BUG!
Cause the rings discription says that it protects against anything that has to do with movement.
And about the AC bonus.
When you have a AC of -5+ defensive spin means -15AC

Heh, it would be an exploit at the very least. The idea of the Defensive Spin isn't that you are held in place by some outside force (like Entangle), but that you perform a maneuver that involves
not moving. The fact that you
can move with the Ring of Free Action is a programming oversight.

No it is NOT A BUG, the ring protects against ANYTHING that effects movement.
So it is not a bug.

i dicoverd this yesterday:
i u cast a couple of blurs first and then u do an defensive spin u get an AC from -20 (and it can be higher :eek
so who needs much hitpoints, if u can't hit him he will not get much dammage either

'Tis a bug.
'Twere confirmed as a bug.
Ye get the AC bonus, coz ye use yer weapon to defend yerself, an' therefore don't move from the spot ye were standin' on. Usin' this oversight is powergamin', nay roleplayin'. BG2 be a roleplayin' game.
An' I'll add this before I gets complaints again: 'Tis yer game, ye payed fer it, ye play as ye wish.

Will bards be able to cast high level spells.
or does their spell progression stop with level 6.
Or will they be able to cast level 7 spells?

No further than level 6, me fears.

Haer rocks in tob. He doesn't need spells any higher than level 6 and later on (Tensor's Trans). he's also able to use the "Use any Item" ability which is just awesome. I had him wield Blessed Bracer, Montolio's Cloak, Angurvadal +5 (right hand), Blackrazor (right hand backup), The Answerer +4 (left hand),Wong Fei's Ioun Stone. If would be interesting for him to have Vhailor's Helm and make another one of him.

Haer'Dalis is something of a poor man's Swashbuckler/Mage, right?

@Xyx, essentially. Like any other character, of course, he can become a powerhouse if you stick the best items on him.
The ring was not supposed to work on the Defensive Spin--programmers confirmed that. It was a mistake, but unforutnately one that can't be fixed without doing major coding. So it is rather cheesy to give that ring to Haer'dalis in order to get around the way a specific skill is supposed to work. Not a cheat--but cheesy, nonetheless.

I don't know about anybody else but HaerDalis has never been hit in my games whilst using Defensive Spin. Also, I think he turns invisible when he's in Def.spin. I could be wrong though. Moreover, Heardais and Jan make the best double-act since last best double act.

not really
there are some mayor differences:
- a swashbuckler may get nice Ac bonusses but Hearry gets a -10 bonus on his AC cast 4 blurs u get a AC of -12 + the defensive spin bonus: -24 (that is if his base AC is 0 and it usually is -1/-2)
- offensive spin makes his moving rate faster +2 to hit and +2 to dammage + max dammage unti the end of the spin.
- and he has a very high number of points in Pickpocketing
Only the swash/mage can cast higher lvl spells and can hide, find/remove/set traps and open locks.
