I've been silienced, and I can't get rid of it!

It's a rather interesting problem I've encountered. Somehow, along the way, my PC was silenced. The odd thing is, I can't get rid of it. Not with any magic, not sleeping. The only thing I haven't tried is greater restoration, and sleeping in an inn. But this causes some severe problems, namely I can't innitiate dialog, and thus kind've stuck in one place.

I'm currently going through ToB, just finished Watchers Keep, and just killed Draconis. My equipment, if this helps, is Defender +5 and Frostband +3 (Drizzt gave them to me, rather unwillingly :D ) A dusty rose Ioun stone, Gauntlets of weapons expertize, Shagalars +3 mail (Something like that) /girdle of Fire giant strength, cloak of sheild, and no rings. I'm also a fighter. If anyone may have an idea, I would greatly appreciate it. Fable, I'm looking right you man.

Failing that, you can try to use Shadowkeeper to remove the affect. The tricky part is figuring out which one it is (but look for the one that references SPPR211 in one of its resources).

The Same thing happened to me Aegis and a cheese thing I did before I figured out remove curse was to kill my character(If it's not your main character, mine was Jaheira) and resurrect. this happened several times in ToB

I had the same problem with one of my chars. In level 3 of Watcher's Keep (I figured out much later after it happened a second time with another PC), when gambling with the final demon, my char was silenced and it didn't go away. After it happened the second time with a different PC, I was smart enough to immediately go back to a previous save. In my first game, I don't have a good archived save and I'm in the same predicament as you.

what does silence do anyway i aint completly sure about everything also why would it not let you talk because of the silence? because if all silence does it make you not talk remember you can just make the character in the first spot another npc and use them as your voice

@Killerkid, it's a spell effect. Prevents you from casting.

What would be truly horrible is if it allowed high levels silenced mages to start miming.

would it not be the spell power word : silence ? i think its permanent until a dispel magic is cast if not cast a remove curse, you could have been silenced in one of those curses when playing the deck of many thing with the cambiom

Yep, same happened to me at the same place...though I sent Viconia, not my PC, can't be too careful, she wasn't much use without her magic though...

Where does this happen, I'll have to send in Anomen, it might be the only way of shutting the irritating b*st*rd up short of killing him. :D
