im brand new to the game, lvl one, just got into the first town after killing the rats and goblins etc. (emperor was assassinated).

I am a theif type...and i am interested in joining the thieves guild. how do i go about doing this. i have done a couple of quests.
Talked w/ Thoronin, followed him after shop closes-Went into Argrimim's house and went to his basement, quest was updated. and now it says...something about Thoroinin (it was lastnight i cant remember exactly)
something about how Arg. is selling linens n such to Thor.

a) What do i do fromt his point?
b) is it possible for me to join multiple guilds?

Joining the Thieves Guild can be done in two ways:

* In the Imperial City's Trade District, steal something and let a guard catch you. Go to jail and get back to the Trade District. Some beggar should come up and give you a note.
* Head to the beggar's area of the Imperial City (southwest) around 2 AM, and find where the beggars are (east). Try to find the small group of three persons. Talk with the man holding the torch (Armand Christophe). Make sure he likes you one way or another (bribing works) and then ask about "Gray Fox" and then "Joining the Thieves Guild".

Make sure you ask about the rules too, so you don't break them. The most important rule is not to kill any character during your quests (unless they attack you first).

B. Yes, you can join as many guilds as you want. Just be sure to abide by the rules of each guild (which may be hard at times) and you'll be fine.

To join the thieves guild For me anyway i had to spend some time in jail. I did it as part of a quest in Bruma, and then when you get out a messenger is sent to you sometime the next night and gives you a note. This will start the quest to join the guild.

i see that what i was talking about with Thoronin was wrong--that was just a side quest ( no direct relation to TG at all)
so how do i go about joining the guild.

and what do u mean Gobatcha?

Bribe a begger for the TG, to get the disposition maxed. That should do it.
