how many mercs does it take to get it i sacrificed like 3 mercs and 2 villagers at one time and the priests said it wasn't good enough or something like that

Sacrifice them at 12:00 (when the arrow is in the exact middle of the night side) and you should get it, I only had to use 1 merc I used the one from Bowerstone.
But I also got 1000+ evil points so its good for evil characters but wait till later in the game if your good, becaus eI'm good near the end and I did it got Skorms Bow but my alliginment was still full good because my good meter was through the roof!:laugh:

It really varies what you should do, based on your alinment. I got the bow with the Bowerstone merc on my first try before the Find the Bandit Seeress quest, by sacrificing slightly past midnight and being half good. I have heard somewhere that the good mercs (from Oakvale and the Temple of Avo) are "worth" more at the temple though
