I was looking through my game stats and I saw a total that said Stores Invested In and I was wondering what thats about exactly. Like how do I invest in a store and where do I have to be to do it?

You need a high enough Mercantile skill to do this. Have that and sufficient drakes, and the option will become available in stores. Basically, it only does one thing: it adds to the cash ceiling that a given merchant can spend on one item you sell to them. That's all. And you have to invest quite a bit to raise it significantly.

Not very much return to the effort and precious little gameplay on this point, I'm afraid. Just my opinion.

I thought it was a one time fee (for one store) of 500 and the ceiling is raised 500, but thats not the case?

@BB--It is a one time fee for each store that raises that store's ceiling by 500. If you max your mercantile skill all stores will be raised 500 and the stores you have invested in will raise an addtional 500.

I beleive what Fable was refering to was the cost of leveling up your mercantile skill thru training can be expensive. You do get the added benefit of leveling up your Personality attribute.

Better than using speechcraft, but probably not as good as illusion.

I personally went this route thinking I could keep investing in the same store and bumping up their ceiling each time......oops.
