Question about Anomen's quest

Alright, so I convinced Anomen to go seek revenge instead of letting his sister's killers get off. I haven't actually gone and killed them, but it is next to do in my journal.

Is there anyway I can have Anomen turn into a knight now? I really like the guy, and having him go all chaotic neutral on me would mess up the party. If I let things alone will he pass the test? I'm not above a little tinkering with the game (shameless), but I'd also rather not brute force it with ShadowKeeper.

Thanks.

In order to pass his knighthood test, Anomen must not take revenge. Also, if he's not your romance interest, then your party reputation must be greater than 9.

If you go to Saerk's now, you'll automatically be taken to the dialogue and won't be able to do anything about it, and if you kill Saerk then Anomen will fail his test. Not sure what will happen if you do nothing, but I suspect that there might be a timer so that if you leave it too long, Anomen will leave the party. It probably isn't possible to get to his test without taking action. So I'm afraid the only option may be Shadowkeeper
Other people might know better though ;)

It's better to go back to a prior save-game, since trying to fix something like this, which involves different globals, is easier said than done. You can try to fix it with the CLUA console, but don't overwrite your current save-game in case something goes wrong. That being said, try this:
  • Move your party to the room in which Anomen's father is standing.
  • At the console, enter CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("KillSaerk","global",0)
  • Next, enter CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("AnomenDecide","global",3)
  • Wait a few seconds, then talk to Lord Cor.
If this works right, you should get the following dialog from Lord Cor: "You have seen the lifeless ashes of your sister, Anomen...", and your journal should be updated with a reference about seeing Magistrate Bylanna. Unfortunately, this won't delete the old journal entries about taking revenge, so you'll just have to ignore those.

You're correct Sojourner, this is easier said than done. I tried fiddling in the console to no avail.

Can someone with a saved game after the quest, but before knighthood who chose not to kill Saerk post the relevant variables so I could just skip this completely?

did you ever do that thing where you go into your file and add the debugmode=0 under program options header in the baldur.ini file because you have to do that to use any CLUAConsole commands.

Yes. And it's Debug Mode=1.
